Magic: The Dorkening

Hey everyone,

  This is the last update to Dorkening, probably forever.  I love all my followers very much but I simply don't have the opportunity to play Magic much anymore and I don't feel right blogging about it without playing.

As a thank you for all your wonderful support during the last year of this blog, I'm giving you the url to my personal blog.  Some of you might not care but a lot of people have asked for it, and it in the past I've refused to give it out.

To follow up my previous post, here is my cosplay from Anime Boston.

Now, I know I've said this a whole bunch, but I just love the Duel Decks.  They're probably my favorite Magic product out there.  I just love the flavor of them and they're often a great way to get your hands on some EDH staples.  Between those factors, Duel Decks and I are a pretty great pair.

That said, I've already heard a lot of negativity about this upcoming one, "Heroes vs Monsters".  We haven't even seen the decklists yet!  Hell, we haven't even seen the foils yet.  How can you pass judgement so soon?  

Alright, I get it.  The name is so incredibly vague that it seems like Wizard's didn't put very much thought into this one did they?  "Hero" and "Monster"...those could be just about any cards in Magic!  Some cards could be considered both even!  

But what's different between the Duel Decks of today and those such as Goblins vs Elves and Divine vs Demonic?  Now the second Duel Deck of the year is centered around the upcoming set upcoming set, specifically the factions involved.  (This was stated awhile ago, I'm too lazy to dig up the article myself but you can go search Wizard's site for it!).

So that means "Heroes vs Monsters" vague as it may sound, may be more specific than we think.  Maybe when we get more information on Theros we can make some better guesses as to what this Duel Deck will be like.
