( Nicholas Galitzine, 31/350, Dorain Eldrich, cismale, he/him + seer ) Underneath the sparkling sky, did you see NICHOLAS GALITZINE being tipped by the Cauldron? No, that's just DORIAN ELDRICH, who is the EMISSARY from AUTUMN. I heard that on most days they're IDEALISTIC and PATIENT but if you catch them on a dark night, they can be SECRETIVE and EGOCENTRIC. But if you really get to know them, you'll know that they vibe with THE QUIET OF EARLY MORNINGS, SECRETS SHARED WITH NO ONE, WITTY BANTER.

Biography.
Being born into a family of Army men wasn’t easy on Dorian. His father expected a fighter out of all of his sons but he never had an interest in the sword. It all intensified when he got his powers. At the tender age of twenty, while still a child but already pressured to train, he started to have visions. Of wars past, of endless suffering and of future battles, won and lost. Every time Dorian could escape his training he would and he’d delay joining the army as much as he possibly could.
Dorian found refuge inside the royal palace, getting lost in its corridors and hiding in the vast library, befriending one of the Ladies of the court that was a little older than him. She would let him stay in the palace as long as he wanted and lie on his behalf to protect him. Her and Dorian’s mother were the only two people in his life that were supportive of his ventures into books and studying and that was all he needed.
But tragedy struck him when a mysterious illness befell on his mother. No matter how many books he read and how many healers, even from other courts, visited her, Dorian knew. He had visions of his mother’s passing. Still he didn’t give up until she gave her last breath.
After his mother’s passing, Dorian was determined. He wasn’t going to let his father control him. He refused to continue his training and left the family home.
As the emissary of Autumn, Dorian managed to travel through all the courts, meeting all kinds of faes and through his travels, he learnt how to control his visions in a way that didn’t affect them until he met him. He let his guard down around the spymaster from Hybern. Dark culrs and olive skin and Dorian was lost in those big brown eyes the second his greens found them. It was complicated. Hybern and Autumn weren’t very friendly, in fact, every time he had to meet with the Hybern fae, he was trying to solve some kind of problem between the courts.
Except, as much as he tried to avoid it, he was plagued by a vision of fatality in his and Luc’s future. Even though it broke his heart, he became cold and distant with him. Dorian thought that maybe if he was away from him, he could stop his visions this time. Or at least, this one wouldn’t hurt as much as losing his mother.
Trying to get over his love isn’t easy but he finds some kind of comfort in the arms of other faes that would have him, not caring much about who they are or what they want from him as long as they offer a warm body.

lia sits there for a moment, wanting to give him as much time needed to process this, gently fiddling with her thumbs at her lap as she waits, feeling the hesitant energy rippling off of him and there's nothing more that she wants than to soothe it without a second thought, but she stops herself, needing to let him feel whatever he needs to in the moment. at his next question the witch lifts their gaze to meet his once more, lips parted as if wanting to speak but the words leave them; they can't say they blame him for asking, the way starlight's residence had to conceal their identities until now. "I...yes. I am from hybern. I wasn't fully truthful to you about this court, for their safety but I haven't lied to you about who I am. I promise you that...though I understand that's not worth very much in this particular conversation. your trust, and also you as a person are very dear to me. and I wouldn't want to put that at risk unless I knew there was no other possible way...but, I will give you your space if you feel as though you need it. "
That was all he needed to hear from her. Confirmation that it wasn't all a lie. Because that would have broken his heart. He couldn't say he liked it but he understood the reason why she had to hide things from him. Still, he couldn't really blame her, could he? It was out of her hands. So this was what he needed to try to move past this discomfort lodged in his chest. He stretched a hand to pull her softly back down next to him, or rather half on top of him. Putting two fingers under her chin, he made her look up. "None of that. I need you here, I wouldn't want you to be anywhere else. Please." The idea of pushing her away was far from his mind, he just needed to confirm that she was still the fae he loved so much. Lia meant the world to him. Dorian stroked her curls and planted a kiss on the top of her head. "You know you can tell me anything, right? That even if I had a sword to my throat, if you told me a secret I'd rather lose my life than betray you? And— this isn't to make you feel bad, I'm genuinely worried you don't know this but I would give my life happily to protect you even if I can't fight to save my life or yours." If he hadn't told her this before, perhaps now was a good time.
☆゚*·゚AS THEY WERE now alone, Luc felt his body calm, but he could still feel a small amount of stress at the questions asked of him. He struggled because he had some answers, but that wasn't what he wanted in the moment. However, the truth and the issue was that Luc didn't know what he wanted at all. All he knew was that he'd needed that company and attention. They'd been separated, for reasons that he'd only seen as on Dorian's end. Luc wanted to be near him, to get to know him, but he couldn't tell you why either. Feelings weren't something that he was used to in the slightest. Perhaps he'd simply needed and wanted someone to talk to, someone to get out what was in his head. "We were told it needed to stay hidden. And I don't disregard anything my High Ruler says. The way they explained it was with such intensity and demand that I didn't question it in the slightest. I was curious, but I promised not to look into it further."
Because of his skill, the skill that he'd been forced to use against his will on occasion. He wanted to explain everything to him, but that required opening up a little more than Luc was used to doing. "I don't know everything. There's a lot they keep. Even when I can scry, something blocks me. And it's not a normal block, Dorian. It's dark. Really dark, even dark for me." Dorian smelled wonderful, and Luc just wanted to stop talking. He wanted to stop thinking about everything because it all seemed like too much. "Later, talk later, when I'm calm." And Luc grabbed his waist, holding him directly up against him. He leaned forward and captured his lips in a soft kiss. Luc's body calmed down and sunk into it, just as he needed.
Dorian had so many questions, wanted more answers than Luc was giving him, for one, if he was being forced to use his powers, why keep this secret? He sighed at his words and nodded, adding Luc to the list of faes that easily lied to him and it stung more because they were some of the faes he trusted the most. But with Luc, well, at least he had been dishonest with him too all this time. Disappearing on him when things got further and Dorian had his vision.
The seer gave in for now and let Luc take just like he lets everyone take from him what they need. Their lips connected and Dorian was Luc's for now, no matter what was happening, where they were or that he'd been lied to. They were trapped in this course anyway and whatever attacked them in Winter and sent them here surely didn't plan on stopping now. When they least expected it, things were going to get increasingly worst. Dorian hadn't tapped into his power, trying to keep it controlled and but he had a feeling... so he kissed Luc like the world was ending because it might be and then what difference would it make if Luc told him about Starlight sooner or later? "You are very distracting and bad for murder investigation." He whispered between kisses.
After an Autumn court meeting at the palace, Dorian took the chance he had been waiting for to explore Sterallia on his own. Perhaps not all of it but as much as he could. He was sure he didn't have much time before a guard would come and get him to leave since he wasn't staying there and wasn't anyone's guest at the moment.
The bright stars outside illuminated his path, their shine coming in through the tall windows all around the palace. The stars were so vast and shiny that it felt like they were coming down like rain, even inside. Dorian was still mesmerized by it all. He wanted to go into every room, walk up every set of staircases, and most of all, he wanted to find the libraries. But instead, in a very Dorian fashion, he sneaked into a room that seemed to have been inhabited for a while. It looked like a gallery of some sort, walls full of art of styles Dorian had never seen. He was mesmerized, almost brought to tears at the shine of the pictures, the stars outside appeared to be covering them in glitter.
He startled when he heard the door open, gasping softly as he took a hand to his fast beating heart. Dorian rushed to apologize for intruding, stumbling on his words. "Apologies. I got lost but I'm leaving right now." He took some steps forward until he realized it wasn't someone from Starlight coming to get him and expel him out but non other than— "Apollo?"

Icarion turned his head at the response, honey eyes flicking over... and then stopping. The grin faltered for half a breath before it snapped back into place, brighter than before, because that was what he did when something knocked the wind out of him.
"Sadly, he says." The words came out without thinking, smooth and practiced, even as something in his chest pulled tight. "As if this isn't the most beautiful court in Prythian. But then again, you always did have terrible taste." The grin stayed in place, yet his mind raced. Dorian. Here. In this court. Standing in the starlight like he'd been conjured by the same chaos that had dragged them all through blood and snow.
"Mine? Very much mine. Born here, raised here. I'm Icarion. The unimportant, utterly useless princeling of Starlight. The family keeps me around for decoration and morale. It's a critical role... very underappreciated." The words were for show, but his eyes hadn't left Dorian's face. He was cataloguing the differences. The set of his jaw, the way he held himself, whether there was still warmth there or just the memory of it. It had been long enough that Icarion should have been over it. He wasn't sure he was.
"You, on the other hand..." Icarion let his gaze drift, deliberate and unhurried, tracing the line of the stranger's jaw and the way the low starlight caught in his eyes. "You're still very pretty." He said it smoothly, almost too smoothly, because flirting was easier than honesty and honesty would require other things to be said. "But you already knew all of that." He tilted his head, smile sharpening just slightly.
"You said something good might come out of this. Interesting choice of words, considering the string of murders." A pause. "So which is it, Dorian? Are you actually optimistic about tonight, or did you just say that because you knew I'd listen?"
Dorian let out an amused chuckle. "It's my first time in Starlight but not by choice, believe me." He quirked an eyebrow. "We weren't aware of its existence before tonight, remember? Otherwise my work would have led me here many times, happily. I love visiting new places. Bad taste or not." He didn't take offence, taste was subjective and Icarion was usually on the list of things Dorian liked.
"Born and raised in Starlight who lied to me all this time about where he was from, blames me for not being here before." Dorian hummed, smirking and shaking his head. "Wait, you are a Lord here?" They've known each other this long and Dorian didn't even know Icarion was from a High family. No wonder why things would have never worked between them.
The way Icarion trailed his eyes over him didn't made him flinch or look away, not even blush, Dorian just relaxed at the attention. "It never hurts to listen but it won't distract me from the fact that you lied to me all this time." Looking behind Icarion at Sterallia behind him. It was the place where the other grew up and he didn't even know it.
Dorian sighed because at this point, finding out that fae close to him have been lying to him for centuries, he did not know what to believe in anymore. His positive energy and hopeful nature cracking but Dorian wasn't going to let it break. "I want to believe it. I suppose I'm gullible like that."
IT WAS ALWAYS A PRIVILEDGE TO MEET SOMEONE OF THE SAME RANK, SAILING FROM OTHER COURTS. While the emissary of Autumn seemed approachable, Cassandra did not think for a second that he - much like everyone else sans Hybern - is subjecting her to severe scrutiny.
she couldn't say she blamed them - the Prythian fae.
She figured she would have been ten times worse is there was an unknown court that suddenly popped back up. Had the roles been reversed, she would have been suspicious, too. "I am, yes." she spoke, inclining her head lightly in greeting. "Greetings, Dorian Eldrich. The court of Starlight welcomes you - and the court of Autumn. I hope your high lady and the family are settling in well. I know it's been quite a... shock for everyone." a petite smirk dances upon her lips.
perhaps she had been amused by it all - even if only a smidgen. "Dark, or perhaps realistic? If you had proclaimed a court - nay, the continent - full of enemies, wouldn't you have taken the opportunity to eliminate the threat while it was blindsided?" she asked, head curiously cocked to the side.
a soft chuckle rasped through her lips.
"I am pleased to hear you re intrigued. I have expected more... ferocious ignorance from the courts of Prythian, so it heartens me to see you have no such prejudice. Perhaps you'd like a tour?" Casseia offered.
Finally finding someone that was, in fact, from Starlight, made Dorian a little giddy as he grinned. He lent in a little closer to hear her better and pay better attention at her words. "That's very kind. I hear Autumn's High Lady is— making sure her quarters are up to her standards." Dorian let out a huffed laughed about that. "I for one am staying in one of the inns, with a friend. I want to be where the faes are." He wasn't sure when he was going to have the chance to live with his best friend again so he was taking it now that they were here and not across the sea.
His eyes widened as he was taken aback by her, still, dark take, but he was amused and entertained. "I'm not one for going about thinking about eliminating others. Nor wish that my enemies would be done with this and kill us all." At her offer, Dorian perked up. "A tour with a local? I'd like nothing more. I want to know everything about your court. It's beautiful here."
iliana feels more centered once the beds are properly pushed together, letting out a content sigh, following suit with a gentle fall back on the bed. at his words they stop for a moment, turning onto their side to face him with soft and lightly apologetic eyes. lia knew that tone, because she knew him, knew he wasn't actually upset, that he just felt a little left out, but she was grateful he brought it up all the same, sitting up and gently offering a hand out with a little amused smile at his antics, but still planned to be completely honest. "...I know. honestly I probably should have pulled you aside about it sooner. I apologize. but you should know it didn't feel like my place to say anything. not until everything felt safe enough for them. or until they could reveal themselves on their own terms. as far as i'm aware they had to hide for their own safety because there was a threat placed on their high lord at the time...honestly we weren't really able to reach them properly either until they showed up at winter festivities."
As he listened to her words, still lying there on the bed, eyes fixed on the ceiling, he knew he had no reason to doubt her. Yes, she lied to him about the Starlight court, or more accurately, she hid what she knew. And he was sure there was no way she could have lied all these years about where she was from. He had been to Hybern where he not only met her but he also met Luc there. But a question still lingered in his mind. He needed to know the whole truth, always needed to know everything. "You are, in fact, from the Hybern court, aren't you?" He finally asked her. "You haven't been lying about that." Dorian said it as a fact because he truly couldn't believe that his best friend would lie to him about something like that. That at some point she would have told him, knowing her secret was safe with him, otherwise, were they really the kind of friends they always prided themselves to be.
Dorian was a delicate person, he seemed sharper than he was and when he needed it, he could be but if he was going to continue to put all his trust in Lia, he needed to know that he could. That the trust was still there.

callum was so in over his head with all that had gone on for everyone, what had happened in the temple before the events that all led them here essentially took him through a spiral he was still trying to manage, just feeling over all exhausted. and now, all courts were left here, in a brand new gorgeous court the majority of them had no idea was even there. he was overwhelmed because were this any other time, he'd be in fully in awe at what they were all experiencing here, a fully new culture and history and people to learn from and hear more about. admittedly part of him still couldn't believe they were all here as he looked over cool toned book covers in one of the stalls, running a hand over it to get a feel of the material. all in all he was grateful to dorian for the distraction, having needed to get out of his head, but he raises a brow just a bit hearing the other man's polar opposite experience with the place. he figured someone had to properly take it all in for the both of them.
he stands there for a second, tilting his head in silence as he tries to fully process all the excitement coming off of the other man. he sounded like this was all just an impromptu trip they were all just taken on. "I, uh...yeah?" he says it with a little laugh. "all of dawn. we decided to stick together, so the palace it was. what about you and autumn. I will say their arrangements all did sound very nice. but um, I do think i've mostly just been trying to settle and process everything. I did want to go see the libraries and their temple if you...wanted to join me in that? I could actually really use the help. especially with someone who's as excited about it as I usually am. could maybe have you over to explore after dinner some time, a pair of fresh eyes and all."
If anything, Dorian seemed to have caught Callum off guard with his excitement and made him laugh which was good enough for him. After all, take him off his mind is what he wanted. He chuckled and listened, nodding at his words while enjoying a treat he had purchased from one of the vendors, licking something he didn't quite know what it was off a spoon. It tasted pretty amazing.
"No, I decided to stay at one of the inns with a friend. Too much going on at the palace." Even though he was the Emissary of his court and he quite enjoyed the travels and arrangements he got to do for his court in his journeys and meeting other courts, this was out of their depth and a lot more serious than he was used to deal with. He still offered his High Lady advice if needed but she was more capable than him and wanted to be hands on about this which made sounded reasonable and much like her. "Oh yes, please. I would love that. Perhaps tomorrow night I can come by? I'm dying to see their libraries." He said with a grin. Dorian stepped in a little closer trying to avoid prying eyes and ears before he lent in to ask, "So, how are you, really?" He pulled him aside, away from the stalls and other faes.
ravi acknowledged how dark things had gotten. sure. but instead of choosing to really think about, well...everything, he was much more ready to push that all aside and treat this as a whole new addition to the celebrations they were all part of before. there was no question that he was going to take up space in stellaria, already having lounged in every space he could find in the spring suite. everyone was being such a...bummer. and it was really causing him stress, so naturally he sent word to bring over the emissary of autumn for a little bit of entertainment. the moment he spots the other in the hall with spring's appointed guard, ravi all but opened the door to drag him in, mock saluting to the guard before closing the door behind them, quickly pinning the other against it as he started to take his robes off with a lazy smile in greeting. "hi beautiful. thought you lost your way for a second there, it was sooo boring just waiting around." they pout mockingly, speaking in between soft pecks against the other's jaw and neck. "you've got some making up to do."
The second Dorian saw a guard outside of the Luxencia looking for him, his heart stopped a little, letting out an "I'm too pretty to go to prison" towards him. He was pretty sure he hadn't done anything wrong but at this point, everything was so hectic that he had to fear the worst. Luckily, when the guard announced he was a Spring guard, Dorian managed to put two and two together and knew what this was about. All the way to Sterallia, the poor fae was blushing crimson, surely knowing what this was about and having done this many times before. Dorian had mercy and didn't tease or bother him, didn't talk at all.
He arrived at Sterallia and was guided to the Spring quarters down to Ravi's chambers and he barely got to knock when he was pulled in, his neck attacked immediately which made him laugh. "I don't know what you pay your guard but—" Dorian tilted his head giving Ravi more access to his neck. "I think you should compensate him even more." His hands coming up to Ravi's shoulders, he chuckles at his words. "Compensating huh? What exactly am I compensating here?"
iliana needed this after everything that led them to this new court. they weren't as untrusting as others were of starlight, though they understood why they would be starting to point fingers after these less than ideal circumstances. the witch knew she could trust the starlight court, at least for now, having already known of their existence with the rest of her court, and why they had to keep their identity a secret. she was excited to finally explore everything it had to offer, but was also riddled with so much grief with the lives that had been lost up until this point. not just her own but the ones she could feel from others around her as well, having silently repeated mantras and inner healing spells for those who were open to accepting the help. she knew it wasn't going to fix everything but if it had the possibility of helping someone she figured it wasn't going in vain.
"which one speaks to you? i'm grateful wherever." and she means it genuinely, looking back at dory as the pair have found their new suite in luxeria, two beds greeting them against the wall, and she finds herself at peace, perfectly content to be here, and glad that this was something they got to choose for themselves in spite of everything. though there was a bit of distance between the two however, and she tilts her head to the side as she thinks this over. "...I think we should push them closer, though. I think i'd miss you too much."
The moment they walked in their shared room, Dorian sighed. Relieved washing over him. Even though he was curious about Sterallia and the Starlight court, he surely needed a break and some peace and calm and finally his own space. Well— his own space with Iliana which was practically the same. Except...
Except it was found out that Hybern knew about Starlight all along and Dorian, being as noisy as he was, he wasn't thrilled about Iliana hiding things from him. He wasn't angry though, of course not, never. Just maybe a little hurt.
He was lost in thought when she spoke to him so he looked up at the beds and he had to agree with her. Now that they were going to be living together through this, they might as well take advantage of their time together. "I agree love, let me get the night table out of the way." Dorian said and moved to do exactly that so they could push the beds together and once that was out of the way as well, he flopped on the bed. "I can't believe you lied to me al this time." He just come out and said it so they could talk about it and move on from it. Dorian wasn't one to dwell or play games or act offended and not say what was on his mind. He wasn't unforgiving either, he was going to listen to Iliana and whatever she had to say.

☆゚*·゚AS HE RAN his hand down Dorian's arm, Luc felt goosebumps, something he hadn't felt in a while. Maybe it was the shifting to a new court, or the fact that they'd all been through so much. Luc couldn't tell you. He couldn't understand his own feelings at the moment. All he knew was that the confusion washed over him and showed him exactly what he wanted, and right now, that was Dorian. Lightly, he tugged on his arm, guiding him through the palace down to his room.
"We've spoken to their court before, but I haven't actually been here before. A few of the fae I've spoken to have explained the layout, that's all." Luc had memorized what they'd told him, explaining the ins and outs of the court. When they reached his room, he pulled them in and shut the door, eyes staying fixated on Dorian's. "We're alone now," Luc whispered. His hand slid back up Dorian's arm, resting directly under his chin. "You need to be closer."
There was a desperation in Luc, in the way he was dragging Dorian through the corridors, the look on his face, like he was trying to cover something with his need. He followed quietly but vigilant, watching every move, every glance but at the same time, the emissary looked around the palace or what little he could. "Why were they hidden? Were you forced to keep the secret?" He continued his inquiries until they were in Hybern's quarters in the palace and Luc guided him to his chambers there. Dorian wasn't staying in Sterallia, he was in one of the inns in town with Iliana and honestly, he was alright with that arragment.
Dorian went easily, stepping closer but he still worried about Luc. They usually did this cat and mouse dance where Dorian pushed and Luc pulled but not this time so he couldn't help but wonder— "What happened in Winter?" The emissary asked in a whisper, leaning in to press his forehead to Luc's. "You can talk to me. It's been quite the travel and I'm sure you are under a lot of pressure in your position." Dorian grabbed Luc's hand that had pulled his chin up and kissed his knuckles. "It's alright if you want to talk first." His tone still soft and warm.
The words landed somewhere soft, somewhere dangerous, and for a moment he didn't know what to do with them. Then he did what he always did. He smiled, slow and lazy. The smile that had kept Dorian coming back despite every time Apollo had pushed him away.
"You're too good at that," he murmured, and this time he didn't step back. This time he stepped closer. Close enough that the space between them became almost nothing. Close enough that his breath ghosted against Dorian's cheek. "The sincerity. The patience. The way you say things like they're simple." His fingers brushed Dorian's collar. Just a touch, just enough to promise something he had no intention of delivering. "It's dangerous, you know. Saying things like that to someone like me. Someone who doesn't know how to give you what you deserve."
His golden eyes dropped to Dorian's lips. Deliberate, calculated, the same move he'd used a dozen times before. "But I'd be lying if I said I didn't like hearing it." He pulled back slightly, just enough to leave Dorian leaning forward. "But I think that's enough sincerity for one night." He stepped back, the warmth of his fingers replaced by cold air. "You've had your moment. I've had mine. Let's not ruin it by pretending it means something."
Apollo had a gift that it was possible, no other fae Dorian knew had. He had a way of saying things that seemed like a compliment but instead cut like a knife. Turned good things to make them feel like your weaknesses. Dorian was use to it by now, it did not surprise him. He didn't take it personally anymore.
The ghost of his breath, the lightness of his touch, his misguided looks, all calculated to leave Dorian wanting more and he did, he wasn't ashamed of it, of wanting someone. It was, perhaps, his best attribute. He closed his eyes and dropped his head when Apollo stepped back and he let out a humorless little chuckle at the theatrics of it all.
"I'm not one who's pretending." He looked back up to, hazel eyes to meet golden. Dorian's always crystal clear. Apollo's always in the shadow of something else. He pushed away from the table and headed to the stairs but before he went up, he stopped at the bottom to look back at Apollo. His still disarming, caring smile wore like an armor. "Give yourself away sometime, sweetheart. There's so much of you."
