I found my 26 year old Suunto watch in a drawer today. It’s worn and dirty, but I popped in a new battery and got it running. Besides telling time and date it has timers, alarms, a compass, altimeter, barometer, back light, and is water resistant. I relied on it on my travels over five continents. Finding it is a timely reminder to think about another journey.

Good example of tarp set up with a ridge line and the truck under it. This has the advantage allowing you to use your truck and leave camp undisturbed. In this example, the ends of the ridge line are high enough so tarp poles aren’t needed allowing easy access of the rig to the shelter.

No more single use 1lb propane cans. Just need a 1lb to 20lb adapter hose and a 5lb or 20lb refillable tank. Check connections with soapy water.

Edit to add: I threaded a ridge line through the tarp’s loops to give me the option of using trees instead of the pole and the rig. I placed Prusik knots on the ridge line to make tarp positioning easier.
