Thoughts on the site's responsive update?
I have bad eyes and I'm enjoying the new layout, especially Slate theme! The new buttons being huge are wonderful for me on mobile. Having the menu buttons along the bottom side of the page for mobile make it much easier to navigate too. If you're having trouble getting used to the new site, switching to one of the dark themes and pretending it's a new app instead of Old Site But Changed might help with getting used to it.
The new forums especially are wonderful for me because YAY, big buttons and look how much less scrolling I have to do to walk around! I do wish the mobile forums could be "collapsed" into Xenforo-type phone width, but it's already much better.
I think there's an amount of consistency issues still (such as Blocked players being highlighted to you on forums) and I dislike certain display changes (treasure always displaying as k and not changing to millions, no way to see the amount of unread notifs/Pms/friend requests/achievements no longer accessible at the top anymore). I also realize a lot of the pages are still experimental but the ways in which they're not updated are strange!
But overall, good for navigation and good for my eyes. This update did break lair tab descriptions and forum columns so I'll need to update most of my lair. Aequorin also got back near instantly to my post on the announcement, so, hopefully they're actively working on updates and fixes?
I'm feeling positive right now. I just hope further updates to the site layout won't fall to the wayside like the pinglists, nesting grounds, baby skins in dressing room, etc :) Seconding a request for low contrast theme though!
(Or maybe now that the site has been refactored to use different themes, the ability for users to define their own colours for their own site themes.)
