i like looking at retro tech/obsolete product advertisements because you can just appreciate the aesthetics and artisitic value without feeling like you're being propagandized into making a purchase. like there is zero chance i am going to go out and buy a magnavox odyssey in 2023 because i saw an ad for one and even if i did the company that made the ad would make no money from it. so all the effort that went into making this image, in an attempt to make it marketable and profitable, it's just cool art now. almost completely decommodified by the mere passage of time.

Feels like it's very predictable, like a math equation or law of physics. With enough time even the most insubstantial, tacky, even exploitive advertising seems to gain artistic value.
