omg hi anon!!! sorry for a late response but thank you for this excuse to talk about how they deserve better lmao

i think the whole bully to lover trope is shite, and it's always shite no matter how hard the shows try to make it good cause in the end it's always someone going against their better judgement and dating someone who made them feel like crap. when i first started watching the show, and honestly until pretty recently, i was either blind to the shite-ness of said trope or willing to "look past it" for the sake of queer rep and plot, but now im willingly here admitting it's a big and stupid mistake lmao.

now for my truly scorching hot take: they should not have gotten together (...at least in this season, if the writers were adamant on doing this...)

saying that,,,,it goes without saying i would fucking die for eric, and if im being honest i do love adam. half of it is because connor swindells is adorable, and half of it is cause if you take him out of this "love story" he's this arsehole who realises he was making people's lives a misery just cause HE was miserable, and thus is actively taking steps to try and be better!!!! wonderful!!

...we DO kinda need to see him actually be good to eric tho, cause it's all well and fucking good showing him being best pals with ola but if you're putting this twat in a relationship with the god that is eric effiong then u need to actually show them together, talking things through, fucking communicating for a change yanno???

don't get me wrong, im kind of rooting for em simply cause i love the characters individually, and think there's a potential there to do them somewhat-justice if they really knuckle down and deliver, cause they've shown what they're capable of with the whole aimee (amy?? i forget😅) storyline in season 2. they just need to apply that skill to adam and eric instead of half arsing them and thinking it's good enough!! id die to see a domestic gay couple in a show like this, but really doubt they're gonna be given the chance. idk conclusively how i feel about them, but uh,,,,yeah,,,i both love and hate them together 😅😅
