Interview by Peyton Beard
Pinelands Music Festival
Millville, New Jersey
LOOKOUT! PRESS: I’m here with Lancaster, PA’s very own You Me And Everyone We Know at the inaugural Pinelands Music Festival in Millville, New Jersey. For starters, can you guys go around and say your name, role in the band, and a little fun fact about yourself?
Ben L: A little fun fact about myself. Uhm Hi my name is Ben and I sing and stuff in the band You Me And Everybody We Know and a fun fact about myself is my favorite Kool Aid is Blue Raspberry Lemonade.
L!P: I’ve never had that before.
Ben: I was gonna say that.
Ben: Hi my name is Ben and I play guitar and my address is [removed for privacy reasons]. Can you edit this out afterwards?
L!P: I’ll think about it.
Kory: That’s your fact? [laughs] That’s a fact.
Ben: I didn’t know what else to say!
L!P: Do you want to give us your social security number or anything like that?
Ben L: Just give ‘em the first four digits!
Ben: No but really, please edit that out.
L!P: I will I will. I promise.
Ben: Make it be like “OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT”. That’d be funny, right?
Joe: My name is Joe, I play bass and uh my fun fact is I also play trombone.
Ben: I thought you were gonna give your address too.
Kory: Hi I’m Kory and I play guitar. I don’t know the second half of the question.
L!P, Ben L., Ben: Fun fact.
Kory: That’s it. I’m good. I answered it.
Ben: That was a good one.
Blain: Hi, I’m Blain, I play drums and stuff in You Me And Everybody We Know and I really love like super burnt marshmallows.
L!P: Really? Like absolutely black ones?
Blain: Yeah, yeah. Like I have to like, blow them out right before I eat them.
L!P: Didn’t you guys just have a bonfire with Bonfires?
Joe: Yeah they had a bonfire.
Blain: Very inception-esque.
L!P: Please tell me you just went overboard on the jokes.
Ben: Yeah we definitely did.
Kory: But then they got pretty tired of it.
Ben L: Yeah, everyone was pretty aware it was happening.
L!P: I talked to them about it and they were like “I know, I know already”
Blain: Every once in a while you just have to beat something into the ground and it was too funny not to.
L!P: Beating a dead horse, for sure. Awesome. So you guys just completed a tour with Forever Came Calling and are currently on tour with Bonfires..
Ben L: A four day… jaunt.
L!P: So is that near completion, just start…?
Ben L: We will be reaching completion at approximately 5:05
L!P: That’s when you guys end your set, right. So how’s that tour been going?
Ben L: The last six weeks have been great! It’s been real hot, we had a shitload of van trouble but that’s generally the way it goes in life. Uh it’s been really fulfilling, for me, personally. Like doing a lot of the stuff we did on this last couple weeks, past six week run, I’ve been waiting like almost a decade to do, so it was great to kinda like camp in No Man’s Land in Utah and to kinda, just everything. I just love the west, just like, the general north west area.
L!P: And you guys played in Chicago a few days ago…
Ben L: Yeah a couple of days ago. Chicago’s amazing to us. It’s always been a town where I knew if like uh, I’ve said it before, but if we can get there, we can get home. And that’s basically what the situation was arriving in Chicago (laughs).
L!P: So how has the general response been like? Do you have any plans for the rest of the year, are you gonna go back on tour, are you going to go back into the studio?
