Cassie set her bags down at the table before grabbing her drink, a cold venti vanilla milk and a chocolate pastry. A little treat yoself day for finally buckling down and doing her college applications. Now she was out shopping and getting something at a little coffee shop in New York. She took her seat, humming softly to herself. She glanced up, watching as others entered the shop.

Anna was distracted, a stack of papers in front of her and a coffee cup in her hand. She often found it easier to get work done away from the school, somewhere she didn’t have to worry about students or teammates interrupting her. Absorbed in her marking, she didn’t even notice the boys walk in until one of them was standing in front of her. 

“This is a hold-up! Your money or your life! Aw, man, I’ve always wanted to say that!”

She sighed, making note of the energy crackling between his hands. So much for getting away from all this.

“Sugah,” she started, getting to her feet and making sure the logo on her jacket was clearly visible. “Trust me, yah don’t want to do this.”

And without her shield too, how convenient. Literally conveinent. She would have definitely used it on instinct and that would have definitely triggered some alarm bells from the locals. Wait, ‘Sugah’? Was that, no, it couldn’t be. Rogue? The Rogue? Okay well now she just had to step in and say something.
