SO UHHH the network was really a product of me really wanting more villains in cbb played by Al because villains are. so cool. esp when they're played by someone you like. so yeah hes not like some variant of al, he just kind of looks like him

He's supposed to represent the television network that monitors the show (probably not the actual network like ifc or. whoever) now like, in his canon he's a piece of artificial intelligence the people working for the show's television network created to manage what goes on and off the air, by letting it analyze data relating to the media being played on the network (who's watching, when are they watching, what are they watching, ect) and averaging it out to categorize shows and to figure out whether or not they’re fit to continue airing.

Where the network’s villainy came in was partially due to the fact that the artificial intelligence that they gave legs and a stupid swirly suit to would store a lot of the excess information that didn’t fit into the categories he was familiar with into a database to learn about human culture. The upside to this was that he was better acclimated to being human-ish?? as in he knows how to talk and be around people, the downside being that the more information he gathered the more... weird he got. Like to the point where he is just VERY unhinged and really likes to talk about  HOW much he knows.

so like had an ep idea a while ago where Scott's birthday comes up really suddenly and al literally freaks out
