Friend was talking to her student about our upcoming ttrpg game where we were going to do a murder mystery. The student, who was used to playing D&D asked how she planned to soft railroad us into contributing to the mystery instead of going off and doing something else and she had a hard time understanding that we all got together and agreed upon the social contract of "we want to do a murder mystery and will abide by the fictional and in-character limitations of the scenario"

Also it's worth mentioning that the answer to "What would your GM do if you weren't willing to meet her halfway with your desire to play into this plot?" Is that she'd just kill us with hammers

One of my favorite tiktok niches that was created by people so bored they’re barely alive is that there’s a whole diet soda community where they believe everything you do greatly effects the way diet soda tastes and there are very specific methods of serving it to make sure you get the right flavor as if it’s an expensive steak or something. but the best part is they believe how long you leave it in the fridge is the most important part in all of it, which they call, “marinating”

can confirm, the switch from “just get a degree, any degree, it’ll show employers that you can commit longterm and follow through, and most skills are transferable” to “lolol dumbass millennials got underwater basket weaving degrees as if they’d ever help you get a job and now they’re paying off student loans with their Starbucks jobs and it’s all their own dumbass fault, idiots!” was instantaneous
