Rushing about her apartment, Ally frantically tried to finish getting ready as time rapidly drew closer to her dateâs scheduled arrival. As the young woman slipped on her louboutins she beamed, knowing that he would appreciate them. She wasnât one for high heels given the pain that goes along with them, but tonight she chose to forfeit comfort in favor of loftiness. At a little over 5'8" she was already relatively tall by most standards, but she could use the extra height for her towering date. He was the tallest among his brothers, after all.Â
In all honesty, though, she didnât know who to expect as her suitor for the night. Vee had kept it a secret, but Ally had high hopes that it was a certain nerdy turtle. Taking one last look in her vanity mirror, she put the finishing touches on her makeup. The moment she did so, there was a tapping at her window. Jolting at first, she quickly placed the sound, and rushed to greet her date for the evening. She hastily fixed her purple dress (x) before sliding the window open to finally reveal the identity of her mystery man. Upon sight of Raphael, her heart sank within her chest. Her elated expression quickly shifting to one of confusion.Â
âR-Raph?â the rugged testudine chuckled at her befuddled reaction. âWere ya expectinâ someone else at yer high-rise window tanight?â
She was undeniably disappointed, strictly because it wasnât who she thought it would be. Of course, the turtle in red held a certain charm, but he was no Donatello. However, Ally didnât want to ruin a possibly great night by dismissing the muscle bound turtle before even giving him a chance. Surely there was some reason why Vee set her up with him, she chose to keep an open mind. As her thoughts wandered, the burly turtle made his way inside, barely fitting through the window. Standing before her, he gazed down with cocky grin. Not allowing her dismay to show, she peered up at the burly terrapin and returned the smile. Â He shifted nervously before revealing something heâd been hiding behind him.Â
âHere, these are fer you.â He held out in front of you, a small bouquet of blue roses that looked a bit worse for wear. âI donâ personally care fawr dis color, but a lilâ birdie told me this is yer favorite, soâŚâ as he handed them off to you, numerous petals fell to the floor. âUuuh, erâŚsawryâŚthey didnât do too well on the way here, I was runninâ late, so I was really bookinâ it.âÂ
Ally admitted to herself that it was a sweet gesture, she just couldnât help but compare him to his brother. Donnie would have delivered these in pristine condition. Shaking her head at the terrible thought sheâd just had, she laughed and replied, "Aww, itâs fine, Raph! Theyâre still beautiful, thank you.â
A silence fell between the two which lasted for several minutes before it was broken by Raphael. âSoâŚYa wanna head out?"Â
Not bothering to put the already dying flowers into water, she set them down onto her coffee table before delivering an uncertain answer with a shrug, "Um, sure.â following with an unnecessary fixing of her dress, in a hint that was lost on the oblivious terrapin. She was disappointed that he hadnât taken notice of the effort she put into dressing herself up for the evening, but she wasnât all that surprised. When she turned to grab her clutch she found herself suddenly being whisked up into strong scaly arms.Â
âYer green taxi is ready, ma'am.â He released a husky laugh before heading for the window and then proceeded to get stuck in it while trying to get out. âWould ya believe dat this ainât tha first time this happened?â He admitted sheepishly, trying to make a joke out of the less than savory situation. Climbing out onto the fire escape, she then pulled one of his massive arms as he wiggled himself free. Once out, he immediately grabbed her again, taking off at impressive speed for his size. Making the mistake of glancing down to see the minuscule cars below, the young lady seized hold of Raphaelâs neck in fright, and he merely chortled.
âI-Is it a bad time to mention that I have a terrible fear of heights?!â Her eyes were now as wide as they could be as she looked to him.Â
âDonâ worry, youâll be just fine, I ainât gonna drop ya.â Words meant to be reassuring, but only sounded dismissive to her ears. Donnie would have listened. The trip proved short, thankfully, coming to a stop in an alleyway near a manhole cover. The young womanâs blondish-brown hair was windblown, the neatly tied up styling that had taken over forty minutes to achieve was all for naught.
âIt took me so long to get my hair like that.â She sighed, struggling to smooth out her messy tresses.Â
âAww, c'mon it donâ look that bad, ya look good wit yer hair down.â scoffed the red-clad turtle, at which point the exasperated woman turned to him and punched his arm with all of her might. The brute jerked in surprise, he didnât expect so much strength from a dainty thing like her, and he liked it.Â
âYa got some spice in ya.â He smirked, following up with a jovial laugh. By now, Ally had reached her breaking point. Resigning to her awful date, all she could do now was just ride it out.Â
âYouâre damn right I got spice! Now, letâs get down there, we have people waiting on us.â He nodded in affirmation, making a point to head down the stinky tunnel first so that he could lead the way, despite her having been to the lair previously. Just when she thought things couldnât possibly get any worse, while climbing down the ladder, Raphael caught a glimpse up her dress and gasped.Â
âUh, umâŚAllyâŚI dunno how to tell ya this butâŚyer dressâŚI can seââ Knowing exactly what he was referring to, she swiftly covered herself. Thank goodness she decided not to go commando. She screamed internally the rest of the way down into the sewers. This night had already been an unmitigated disaster, and it had yet to even begin.Â
The lass found her pace quickening once she caught sight of the lair, eyes filled with hope of some reprieve from hurricane Raph. When her eyes happened upon Vee and Donnie, however, she instantly fell into despair. He was gently nuzzling the top of her head with his as they sat comfortably on the couch. Of course they were together, the lovelorn girl felt ridiculous for having not noticed their budding romance. Â Taking in a deep breath, she approached them. She kept her discomfort well concealed, but to anyone with keen empathy, it was quite evident.
âH-hi, guys! Howâs it going?â She asked cheerfully as Raphael met her side, slipping his hand around her waist only to have it batted away.
