After sharing information with Vega, I came up with another slightly different theory. However, I’m not very confident about this one.

My theory is that Maneki helped the upper management of the show carry out a murder. (Aiding and abetting murder.)
I’ll explain later how I think Vick might be involved.
First, Maneki never told us anything about the murder he helped with.
If the murder he assisted with had nothing to do with the show’s management, I think there would be no reason for him not to talk about it. But if it was related to the show’s management... he wouldn’t be able to casually reveal it, especially if there was a possibility that he was being watched.
Also, I think many people already know this, but Maneki is a quiet and mysterious character, and it is said that he has a thyroid problem.
Furthermore, Maneki’s character card design shows a cat with its tongue cut out. Around it, there are several dead mice(?) hanging.
I think these mice represent other people besides Maneki who were involved in aiding murders. And I think the cat represents Maneki himself.
If we try to interpret this, maybe everyone involved in the murder assistance except Maneki was killed, and Maneki desperately begged for his life, saying something like:
“If I survive this game, please let me go.”
Or maybe the management found it entertaining and told him:
“If you survive this game, we’ll forgive you.”
Then Maneki accepted (or was forced to accept) the offer.
However, as a precaution to silence him, they may have damaged his thyroid.
My theory is that Vick was brought into the game as Maneki’s “watcher” or “guard.”
I think the reason the show’s management provided funding for Vick to participate may have been because of this.
If this theory is correct, then Maneki is someone they don’t care about losing, or even if he survives, he will eventually be killed.
I think there would be nothing more troublesome than someone exposing the murders committed by the upper management.
Of course, it’s also possible that Maneki’s murder assistance had nothing to do with the show’s management at all. It’s also possible that someone unrelated to the show sent a watcher to monitor him.
That’s why I’m not very confident in this theory. lol
