There are many poc in the fandom, as shown by the thread, we’re all honestly just joking around and we know that they’re fictional.

Obviously, we are not going to hc them as racist because that is very exclusionary to many of the poc in the fandom (which I assume ur upset abt, reasonably). Besides, why would we like characters that are legit racist y’all cmon 💀

But to reiterate, since I feel like it needs to be said.

We’re just joking around about 17th century vampires nothing more, nothing less. Edit: We literally are making jokes at the expense of ourselves. We don’t genuinely believe it. The joke is all in the optics.

For me, it’s the optics which according to the dictionary is “the way in which an event or course of action is perceived by the public.”

I thought the ask was really weird and it’s honestly smth that never crossed my mind. The reason I put a tw is bc I see that people are upset and it’s something that resonates with them.

I see headcanons all the time about how kanato likes “small and fragile girls” and it’s usually pictures of gothic Lolita East Asian and white women. Do I think that’s inherently racist? No, but the sus-ness (or so to speak) about how it can appear is just so ridiculous.

As for Ayato’s situation, I accept that that was wrong. However, like with Kanato’s situation there are many headcanons in the fandom where vampires own slaves.

Do we think it’s in the same way that humans owned slaves (racism, transatlantic slave tarde etc.)? No, of course not, but the optics make it seem that way. Which is what makes it so ridiculous.

Humor is a form of escapism. I joked about being called a 'spicy latina' because it's absurd, just like the ask. I'm laughing at myself and people that sexualize Latinas because it's something I personally face in my everyday life.

We aren't laughing at anyone else's trauma. Reading through the reblogs was horrifying, but if that's the way other POC want to cope with THEIR trauma and struggles they face as a member of that racial minority, that's not my place to say that they can't.

Maybe a mature Kanato? 🤨 my friend @dollyvampire came to me suggesting about a Kanato drawing with muscles in my taste........ and then asked me for an drawing; so of course I did! love how shu's hcs are always so long and the rest get the bare minimum...i like inequality

how many children the sakamakis would want and why:

shu:

- he wants three; two boys and a girl

- shu has always wanted a son that he can raise the way he wishes he himself had been raised. he'll let him explore the world, choose his own path in life and never burden him beyond what a kid should handle (and he'll name him Edgar.... adorable)

- he says he wants another son (named Rossano; which means one who brings dawn's light) so the first won't be lonely, but really it's because he wants to recreate the situation from his childhood and put it right. he'll do his best to ensure the two brothers aren't pitted against each other and actually get along

- last he wants a daughter he can thoroughly spoil, named Anastasia; which means resurrection. It was a favourite name of his mother's, and as much as shu disdains her he can't ever forget the few things she admitted to loving.

reiji:

- he wants two, a girl and a boy

- operates by 'the heir and the spare' mentality, also doesn't want an uneven number of boys and girls so he can treat them precisely the same and one can never gang up on the other

- also even numbers just tickle a mathematically orientated part of reiji's head...they seem so neat and collected

ayato:

- ten.

- the thought of ten red headed motherfuckers running around raising all hell on the house (setting fire to the garage, sledding down the greased staircase, pissing in the yard) makes ayato's brain go brrrr

- he adores the idea of having nearly a dozen mini-ayatos

- mostly wants boys because he's sexist like that but when he actually has a daughter he'll go completely starry eyed with fatherly love.

kanato:

- is he china because kanato has a strict one child only policy and it is not negotiable ma'am.

- one kid - preferably a girl so he can dress her up <3

- kanato's got alot of attention issues to work on and he'd react quite foully to a large family in which it's difficult to get any focused love.

- needy bitch

laito:

- now see.... laito's actually deeply worried about this.

- if he has a son, he's worried that he'll begin to teach him awful things about the world and turn him into a miniature version of himself.

- if he has a daughter, he's terrified that he might - intentionally or not - abuse her the way cordelia abused him

- if you ask him how many kids he wants he'll joke about only marrying you so he could screw you, but the truth is laito has no idea

- if he'd never been abused in that way though, i think he'd want two gentle baby girls

subaru:

- he wants one kid too - not because he's an attention whore like kanato, but because he's worried he won't raise them right and wants to limit the number of people he can damage

- boy or girl, subaru doesn't care. he just wants them to grow up happy and not have to think back to their childhood with gritted teeth - the way he does

- considering how intensely childhood abuse affects the brother's choices of how many children they want and why, it's reasonable for subaru to think this way. he'll always have those ugly days and red hot tempers that cloud him over from time to time

- but when he finds someone he truly loves he begins to realise that the abuse won't be all of him. not always

Laito never cared about human hygiene habits. However, It's been a while since they began to occur more frequently. His smeared body made see himself differently after... that day. The sensation of dirt did not leave his dermis and impregnated the nose with that lustful unforgettable smell.

Take a closer look! The sharp blade cutting through the flesh... Azusa made a point of showing it. A vivid red. How beautiful...........
