sometimes he teaches as an adjunct professor at a nearby uni and they've heard allll about his kids

he'll come to class late like "ahh sorry everyone. i was playing crazy pillow. you know how it goes" and the students are like ??? no we don't

no one besides his colleagues calls him dr. heeler. he used to correct people when they would call him mr. but he doesn't bother anymore. even his students just call him bandit

his dream family road trip is following the australian dinosaur trail. he's had to postpone it several times and when he finally gets to go he will be insufferable

the only time he really spoils his kids is when they're at a museum gift shop. he always gets something for himself while he's at it

he gets a little choked up if he thinks too long about cave paintings or pompeii or all the species that don't exist anymore (the tasmanian tiger isn't exactly ancient history but that one hits him particularly hard)

my favorite kid characters are mackenzie and winnie. we don't see a lot of winnie but she seems like a sweetheart and i'm biased towards labrador characters because my family's only ever had labs.

mackenzie i like because his voice actor always does a great job and "space" was a really good episode.
