It can’t be bargained with, it can’t be reasoned with, it doesn’t feel pity, or remorse, or fear, and it absolutely will not stop, ever!
UNTIL YOU ARE DEAD!

✉ @dogxfiend ASKED;; “ unique just means alone. ” (meme)
The hellhound was RIGHT—in a way at least. “If one was to strip the finer details of the matter away, yes. I suppose it does.” he doesn’t know where the topic comes from but the angel is saddled with a nagging suspicion that he is being led somewhere conversationally. Before he’s left to fall into any verbal pitfalls, he’s quick to turn the topic directly upon Syde.
“Do you feel alone, Syde?”
He was called unique a lot, meant as a compliment. Or that he was an ‘acquired taste’. But Syde considered most things that were an ‘acquired taste’ probably not worth trying in the first place, if he was honest.
When demons called him unique, and humans called him unique, it just made him feel as if he didn’t quite fit in amongst either. That was fine, most of the time. He simply considered himself a different flavor of demon than the norm. And that was fine. Right?
He looked away a little distantly without answering right away. Having to think about just what his answer was. “Sometimes.” He decided on. Nice and vague. Mysterious, even - the kind of answer that Syde often used to draw people in. Acting mysterious was to the curious like a sweet, sticky sap was to an ant.
But those kinds of answers, and coming off that way, wasn’t always intentional.
“Do you?” Dark eyes shifted for the angel. Often Syde was hesitant to look at Hara for long, but he studied him now, watching his face for his answer. He didn’t think angels ever felt lonely; it seemed a particular form of suffering reserved for those severed, in one way or another, from the divine. But Syde also thought it worth asking.

It seemed like their only choice but…
❝ I’m incredibly grumpy when I’m forcibly summoned and I don’t have fucking reality warping capabilities. ❞ well, sort of. Not as readily available. But, again, what other choice did they have at the moment? ❝ I kept a few, yeah. ❞ it hadn’t been intentional at first, they weren’t collected with any motive beyond ‘Oh, well I can’t just put weird cryptid feathers into the normal trash bin’
But after the fact, he’d saw the potential in keeping such pieces of the creature. ❝ I’ll dig them out once we leave here and head back. How soon do you think you can find someone to attempt and track him down? ❞ he had his own connections he could call in favors from, but Syde had him on the AGE factor and likely knew a few lesser known and more capable connections.
Syde made another shrug, but continued to smile despite himself. “I’m not sure when he’s ever not grumpy,” he answered as if that was some reassurance. But, really, it would have to be a calculated risk - one which was hopefully worth the reward, of course. The reward being an invaluable ally that might just take care of this entire problem for them.
A small pause, and a playful arch of his brow as he eyed the cambion. “Are you forcibly summoned often?” He had never noticed, so probably not too often. But the idea and possible circumstances intrigued him.
At any rate, he nodded at Clark’s affirmation that he still had some feathers. “Oh, perfect.” Another sip of his coffee before he set the mug down. “Give me a phone and I’ll call someone right now,” he chimed, grinning. “I’ll have to call someone else to reach who I have in mind, but... I’m sure we’ll be right in touch in no time. Then it’s just a matter of where you want to meet with them.” Clark could teleport, but Syde knew the contact he hoped to reach could travel just as efficiently; so after picking up a feather or two from the man’s home, they could rendezvous with the witch to discuss their needs and the terms of the arrangement.
If the witch was available, and willing... Syde had little doubt she would be capable of this kind of summoning.

i’m not like other girls. i don’t die when i’m killed
Romantic night landscape by James Arthur O'Connor (Irish, 1792-1841)
[What is your Animal Crossing Personality?]
Smug
My, my! You are very charming and captivating. You have no trouble making friends and you leave a positive impression on others. People sense that you are dependable and righteous - you make a brilliant leader. You're playful and enjoy friendly boasting, but you also give out compliments freely and generously. It's amazing that you are so independent, but sometimes you keep others at arms length. You need to remind yourself that it's okay to rely on other people's help and support - your loved ones WANT to be there for you!!

“You like that too?” Maybe he was a dog person after all. Maybe he didn’t realize it because he’d only been around dogs that either yipped and looked as though they had brains the size of a peanut or dogs that could quite literally rip him to shreds in under a minute. He supposed that was less likely to be the case nowadays, but that didn’t mean he welcomed such encounters. This dog certainly seemed capable of fending for himself, though he was a little skinny. Jack figured that, much like him, looks could be deceiving.
He walked the next couple blocks in silence, glancing over his shoulder every once in a while as if he was checking to make sure the dog was still following. He climbed the steps to the flat two at a time and unlocked the door, letting it swing open a crack before taking a seat on the top of the steps. “Will you let me pet you?” It sounded stupid as soon as it escaped his lips and he wrinkled his nose. “Without biting my hands off, I guess…”
Syde followed, still at enough of a distance that he would have quite the head start should he have to turn and flee for any reason. But he didn’t feel worried. Vampires didn’t scare him, not even in great numbers, and this one didn’t smell especially old or anything; still, his caution was a habit, and one he didn’t intend to break.
He watched the stranger but watched where they were going, too, taking note of the area and keeping track of his mental map. If he was really being led to the man’s home, he wanted to remember where it was.
He approached the steps, lingered at the bottom with lifted ears, watching to be sure the door was opened and no foreboding odors wafted out. No red flags, but-- the stranger paused then, turning to sit and invite him closer. Syde stared for a beat, observing the comical shift in the other’s expression. His tail gave a few relaxed swishes. Petting was fine in his book, most of all if he was going to be fed and made a guest.
So, the black dog followed up the steps and into range of the man’s hands, plopping to sit right beside him with some more wags of his tail and even letting his tongue loll in what seemed the canine equivalent of an easygoing smile.

HOW DO YOU TRAGICALLY DIE
Betrayed in the Plot Twist
That shady ally you and your buddies have turned out to be a rotten egg after all, and you're their victim. The audience saw it before you did. Being stabbed in the back hurts like a bitch; I don't envy you, but take solace knowing your death was the single most pivotal moment in the entire story.

kxllerblond:
Though he did not CONTINUE, the indignation over being called SNIPPY over breakfast had clearly had its effect. Clark looked like he would just nearly start clutching at pearls and begging for Syde’s pardon.
The BEST part, as it would seem, was worrying at best. ❝ I suppose I should be grateful we’re on neutral terms at the very least then. ❞ the cambion had his own worrying capabilities but none that he’d ever actually tried to attempt or grow. If Alexander was truly capable of such a feat and EASILY at that…
His expression fell again and he offered a worried stare to the murky depths of his coffee once more. ❝ We have to understand the moral implications of just…throwing our problem into another dimension, Syde. ❞ was that something that he could live with? He’d done plenty of self-serving and horrid things but to potentially damn an entire other world simply because it was in a universe not his own? That would be a whole other level of monstrous.
❝ I’m not…going to damn another world just because we aren’t able to kill one of the Holy’s fucking MESSES. ❞ it was absolute BULLSHIT that they (or at least Clark) had had to elect themselves defenders of their own world because the Divine simply refused to take responsibility. His grip on the mug tightened and he straightened to toss a steely look at the hellhound.
❝ If we’re going to send the nephilim to another dimension or reality… it will be in pieces. I don’t know how but… ❞ an exasperated sigh now as fingers lifted to pinch the bridge of his nose. ❝ As far as Alexander…there’s the matter of YOU and the matter of me not exactly having a direct line to some undying vampire with…APPARENTLY reality jumping capabilities and— ❞ his frustrated gesture was really the extent he cared to try and elaborate on whatever bullshit with that pure and primordial darkness the creature also seemed to have a reign over.
A short scoff and shrug. “Not all dimensions have people, you know” he seemed to try and assure the other man. He picked over what little remained of his breakfast while Clark carried on. Sighed with a brief lift of his brows. “Listen, I don’t know all the specifics about how he goes about it. If you want the nephilim in pieces, you’ll have to talk to our friend about it,” he answered, gesturing vaguely. The same could presumably be said for wanting the problem child tossed into a particular sort of dimension. A people-less one.
The vampire would know more about the matter than Syde would. It had just been an idea on his part.
He issued a wearier sigh then, sitting back with his coffee returned to his hands. “Well, I can probably find him, but it’ll take longer than I know you want it to.” He stared off, squinting slightly in concentrated thought for a long moment. “When he was at your place... You didn’t happen to keep any of his feathers, did you?” Syde asked. “I know he sheds them like a bad case of dandruff,” he scoffed, “and if you have one, maybe we can hire somebody to find or... summon him that way. You know, a witch or something.” Syde had no magic of his own, but he was quite accustomed to hiring people who were, for all sorts of things.

Wolves by Ivan Bilibin.

@nykrose
He could only blink, truly stunned speechless for a beat until Nyk had leaned in close. Dark eyes ate up every bit of the other’s features that he could see from such an intrusive angle. Syde wanted a better look, yet his first instinct was not to pull the creature’s face away, but quite the opposite.
Almost reverently, his hands lifted to cradle either side of the familiar visage, a smile creeping over his lips. Finally he drew his own head back just slightly for a better look. “Oh, I...” He began, a bit breathless and at a loss for words at first. “You’ve got the eyes just right. Smile could use a little practice, I think-” He paused, squinted some in playful challenge.
“Stick your tongue out all the way.”
