This petition isn’t to force a change. We just want to show Hedrick and Iverson that we support them if they want to write their own version of the ending within the comics. Please don’t spread any shipping hate within this petition. THIS PETITION ISN’T ABOUT SHIPS. It’s about giving freedom to these authors to write their own ending, detached from the one we received in the show. Again, please don’t spread hate with this petition. Our only aim is to support these two in giving them the freedom to fix things if they choose to do it.

I called The Walt Disney Company, today to discuss James Gunn’s termination and they were helpful and listened well. Also, I was told that they have already received some other calls regarding James Gunn being fired.

Signing the petition is a good move to show your support of rehiring Gunn, but I suggest also taking some time to call Disney and voice your concerns, as well, since speaking to an actual person can be a powerful form of communication.

Please be polite to the people over the phone. They are just doing their job and you are asking for their help. If you’re angry and impatient, they will likely be reluctant to help you. Refer to them by their names, thank them for helping you, say please, give them appreciation.

Here’s how I went about it:

Call The Walt Disney Company: (818) 560-1000

A voice will ask you if you are calling for ABC television or something. Wait until she is done telling you to press 1, and then press 1.

An operator will answer the phone. They cannot connect you unless you have a specific name or extention. Ask if you could (please!) speak to Bob Iver (the CEO of Walt Disney).

They may ask you why you need to speak to him. I told them the following:

“I was hoping to discuss some feedback with him.” They put me through to someone who could help me.

You will not be able to speak to Bob Iver, obviously. They will connect you with someone who will take a message from you and run it through the company to Iver. When I was connected to someone, I wrote down their names so that I could refer to them by it. Seems respectful and considerate?

They asked me what I needed help with. Here’s, vaguely, what I said:

“I wanted to leave some feedback with Bob Iver about the recent firing of James Gunn. I’m not sure if you’re the correct person for me to talk to, but if you’re able to direct me to who I should be talking to, I’d appreciate it a lot.”

That’s when they said they’d pass a message along to Iver.

Basically, you can say something like any of these:

I would like to request that James Gunn be re-hired for the director of Guardians of the Galaxy 3.

I don’t think firing James Gunn supports Disney’s principals that people can change for the better.

I’m not sure if you’ve already heard, but over 300,000 (you can check the number here) people have signed a petition to re-hire James Gunn.

I think firing James Gunn stops him from being able to redeem himself.

I think that Guardians of the Galaxy helps people and Gunn should be able to continue his good work.

The person I spoke to over the phone let me list off quite a few of these without interrupting. They clarified what I was saying by repeating it back to me, and told me they were writing it down.

You can throw in anything, really, that you think is suitable. Just, please, remember to be polite and appreciative.

The operators and staff that I spoke to were accommodating and helpful. Whether or not the person I spoke to over the phone really passed along my message and really wrote it down I couldn’t be sure of, but they certainly put in effort into sounding understanding and they let me talk without interrupting or arguing or being rude.

I think it’s important to make this call, since Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 goes into production this fall and I don’t think we want this sort of thing happening to another artist in the future. If you believe James Gunn was doing good work by working on those movies, if the Guardians of the Galaxy has ever helped you through hard times, please, at least, try. You will be representing GotG fans, promoting the concept that people shouldn’t be fired for things they said over a social media platform years ago, and supporting the idea that people, when given the chance, can still do good things even after making grave mistakes.

We all know that Peter got his Zune from Yondu. But what about the other way round? Did Peter ever give Yondu a present? A birthday present maybe? Or maybe Peter introduced Christmas to the Ravagers and the worst Secret Santa in history happened. It’s up to you!

Yondu was a man of many mysteries. What kind of things did he keep only to himself? Was there something he wanted to say, but he never had the chance to?

Day Seven: AU

I wonder if anyone, ever, after everything points that out to Peter - Kraglin, Stakar, someone - and he just, stands in front of a mirror trying to see it too because he can’t believe he didn’t see it before and when he finally does, he starts laughing like a maniac until he cries.

“Kraglin! We need the third quadrant - ahhh!” And his cinnamon roll of a smile when he’s frustrated with himself but also laughing.

And when he’s laughing and babbling and leaning on Pratt whose like, “Are you drunk?”

Disclaimer! I’m no writer, but I wanted to share this idea I had after seeing that leaked clip of Petter getting hurt. From the Infinity War trailer I believe? I saw it once and now it’s gone. But I created a scenario that Marvel Studios is more than welcome to use any way they want. I don’t even need to take credit, I just need a Rooker cameo okay?

Thanos watched the self proclaimed “Star-Lord” struggle to breathe.

“Too easy boy!” He laughed sinisterly.

“PETER!!!” Was that Gamora? No. He had no idea where she was. He didn’t know where any of his fellow guardians were. This was a fucking mess. God he hoped they were alright. Peter Quill could feel the darkness creep into his mind - at least the pain was fading away. But it looked like he was fading too.

“Peter hang on!!” He had no idea who was holding him now but at least he wasn’t gonna die alone. “PETER!”

“Hey boy.” A familiar voice said gently. The Terran groaned. Was his mind playing tricks on him? He hadn’t heard that drawl in a long time. “C’mon Pete open yer eyes.” Wait what…? There it was again! “Yer alright son. I’m here.”

“YONDU!” Peter cried as he sat up and threw himself into the blue body before him. The old Centaurian chuckled as he hugged his boy in return. “Yondu!” Peter cried as his tears fell. If he was physically touching Yondu he really was dead but he’d worry about that in a minute. He needed this. “I wish you hadn’t of died!” He felt the touch of a forehead against his own. Yondu was smiling with tears in his ruby red eyes that Peter missed so much.

“I’m sorry Petey.” He said using the old nickname he used on Peter when he was young. The smile left him. “But even now I don’t got much time wit’chu.” He looked up at the stars with Peter following his gaze. “It ain’t yer time yet. I’m jus’ here t’ guide ya back.”

“NO!” Peter blurted out. The two just blinked at one another. He couldn’t contain a goofy grin as Yondu flashed him his old shit eatin’ grin.

“Still defying my orders, I’m proud of ya.” He barked with a laugh as he threw his arm over the man’s shoulder and ruffled his hair. “How’s Twig?” He asked, his features softening again. Peter was quiet for a moment as an overwhelming feeling came over him.

“I don’t know. This is the biggest battle yet. The team’s huge now - I wanna tell you all about it you’d never believe it! But we’re all scattered in smaller groups. I don’t…I don’t know. Oh God Yondu.” He looked up. “I can’t die now! That little doofus, well he’s a big doofus again actually but whatever he needs me. I can’t die!”

“Ya reckon that’s why yer here?” Yondu snapped slightly irritated. “Think I’m jus’ gonna let cha leave that lil’ Twig without his daddy? And yer girl? The rat? Yer family? What chu take me for Quill?”

“You saved my ass again as always.” Peter whispered as he hugged the Ravager chuckling at the grumpy huff that vibrated off of him. “Thank you.” He felt Yondu slump in his arms. “Hey, what’s wrong?”

“Wish we had more time.” Came the captain’s reply. “There’s so much I wanna say t’ ya but…”

“I know.” Peter whispered.

“Remember what I told ya.”

“You told me a TON of things old timer.”

“BOY!” Yondu growled. He chuckled as his big bear of a Terran hugged him tight. He put his hand on that strong chest and pat his heart. “Every thang ya do, do it with yer heart.”

“That’s cheesy.” Peter said with a grin. He looked down as a white light suddenly began to radiate from within him. “Wait…Yondu what’s happening?!”

“Time t’ git on back.” Yondu whispered as he held Peter one last time.

“NO!” Peter cried as the light had just about consumed him. “NO!!”

“Peter!” Yondu cried as he placed his hands on his face just like before and all the times before that. “It’s alright son. It’s alright. I’m still wit’chu always will be.”

“YONDU!!” Peter screamed as he faded away. “NO! NO! Yondu!! Dad! I love you!!” The old space pirate just stood there staring at his hands as small little stars seemed to twinkle and dance - the last of Peter’s light - before drifting away. He closed his eyes as his own body began to glow so he could join the stars once again. A proud smile touched his lips.

“Love ya too Peter.”

And you better believe that as Peter came back to life, everyone could hear a familiar whistle. Like that of an angel. For a brief moment Thanos lost some of his composure. He had killed that boy! Everyone had seen it. This was going to be a tougher battle than he had thought. He should’ve known. That was Ravager garb the kid was wearing. There was one last whistle as Peter Quill slowly began to stand with Groot and Gamora steadying him, all of the Avengers gathered around them.
