us At times I cling to the feeling as though it were a wire, shining, poking from the flesh of my chest and guiding my way forward through time, through space, anchoring me to something on this Earth, in this life. Other times I cling to it as though it were the strong fingers of broad hands crushing my throat and I am struggling for air, so afraid, not ready to die. Some times, more often these days, I don't cling at all. It slips from my thoughts like sand and ceases to exist. I am terrified each time I remember.
