Never cruel or cowardly

“Funny.” He said to the ship. He stared at the door then approached it carefully. He slowly opened the door, almost expecting nothing but darkness and emptiness outside, but instead he got... A lot of tan. And a lot of glitter. “Hello?” He called out as he stepped outside the TARDIS. “Anyone here?”

The Doctor has taken down entire fleets of Daleks on his own far before the Time War was a thought on anyone’s mind (well, not before, since time isn’t a straight line and this is a war fought throughout time, but the point still stands), but the Time War was on a scale he would never have dared to imagine and all he wanted was for it to end. “This war cannot go on. There is no difference between Time Lord and Dalek anymore, there is only death and destruction throughout the universe. The Time War is a threat to all life in the universe and I can’t let it go on any longer.”

The Doctor continued running from the creature when he spotted someone else when he turned the corner. “Hurry, run, there’s this-- creature. It’s hard to explain, but it’s angry and it will destroy anything in its path and right now that’s you, and me, so we’ve both got to run.”

The Doctor ran up to the nearest person. “Look at this... Thing.” He held up the alien device in his hands. “No idea what it is, but it’s remarkable! Don’t know what it’s supposed to do, either. Might be some sort of a scanner?” The object moved suddenly in his hands. “Whoa!” He put it on the ground and it rolled toward the person as it unfolded a little. “Alright, maybe not a scanner. I think it likes you. Is it -- alive?”

The Doctor landed the TARDIS, but he fell and caught onto whatever he could, not realizing the TARDIS had been on the edge of -- something. A building, probably? He can’t see it very well from the vantage point of dangling from it -- until it was too late. “Hello?” He called out. “Is anyone there?” He couldn’t tell how far from the ground he was.

The Doctor poked his head out of the TARDIS. He stepped out and looked around. “... This isn’t my office at the university.” The Doctor frowned up at the TARDIS. “Nardole will be angry if you don’t get me back, where have we gone now?” He turned to - someone - who happened to be nearby. “You there, where and when are we? Place, country, planet, year, anything--?”

The Doctor ran towards the closest person to her. “Have you seen a small creature run past here? The size of a rabbit but definitely not a rabbit?” She asked. “About this big,” she indicated the size with her hands. “Very fast. Did it go this way?”
