Are collabs allowed? Between contributors? Are there any limitations/special rules for them?

Yes, collabs are allowed between contributors! As long as everyone involved agrees to it, of course.

However, that would count for The Work you'd be doing for the zine, meaning that you can't do anything else, for organization's sake

Hey, on anon out of mild embarrassment. I'm completely new to the world of zines. How does one put together a portfolio for written works? Should it be stuff I've written before, or stuff written specifically for the portfolio? Should I just link my works in the contributer application form, or put them all somewhere? If so, where should I put them (Google doc, etc.)

Hi anon! Don't you worry, that's a perfectly good question! And it's best to ask rather than stay confused!

Your portfolio would be fics you've written that you like! If you haven't posted them in Ao3 or a platform like that, you can make a shareable google drive folder with pdfs and/or google documents

If you're one of the folks who post fics in tumblr posts, you can link the tag for it too (just make sure it's minimally organized)

We just ask that you keep in mind the word limit (maximum 3k words) for submitting samples because we're just two folks behind the project

I know there’s a schedule regarding this zine’s application period, but is there a schedule for once contributors are accepted (such as check-ins and such)?

Yes, there is, but exact dates will only go in the carrd and be official once there's a moderation team, for organization reasons.

However, I know it's an important thing to consider before applying so, know that there are 3 check ins and one delivery day in the schedule, in total three months (110 days) to work with!
