Carol, who is THE star sapphire by definition, spent decades fighting the influence of the ring. she murdered people because of the ring! she was legitimately a villain! she murdered Katma Tui, John's wife, in cold blood and made John take the fall for it! Just to get to Hal! She also tried to kill Hal because if she couldn't have him, then no one else could have him—all because of the ring. She turned Arisia into her sex slave to get to Hal all because of the ring. Sure, she's no longer under the influence of the ring and she is herself when she wears it now, but that didn't happen overnight.
Realistically (as in, within the logic of canon), IF Jason were to get a sapphire ring, what it would do is exacerbate his obsession towards Bruce. Think UTRH but remixed and doing so much cocaine the body is now 50% cocaine.

So when it comes to BruHarvey it seems the normal pairing if going the identity porn route is Bruce/Harvey and Batman/Harv. Good pairings, they make sense, like attracts like and they're mainly only ever going to interact in those specific pairings. But I offer you the hilarity of the inverse.
Big bad Harv seeing Bruce Wayne one too many times and decides to torment Harvey by saying he's cute, he's nice, oh look there goes the one that got away. Harvey hates it, that's his friend damn it, one of if not the only people to still stand by his side since he became Two Face, quit objectifying him you ass. Harv just laughs, it's only a joke after all. Until it's not.
On the flip side we've got Harvey, who despite his early reservations about the Bat can see the dedication he has to course correcting this city and keeping its inhabitants safe. But that's not what's got his blood pumping. No. Let's be honest here, Batman's a bit of a freak, he's a grown man running around at night in a skin tight suit cosplaying as a bat, and Harvey? Well, he's had those hands on him enough times to know he's just as much of a freak for liking it.
Do you see my vision? Just a sweet lovesick Harv losing his mind over feeling affection for Bruce, all while arguing that he's supposed to be Harvey's angry half, the bad half, he's not meant to feel affection or romantic interest, what the hell is happening. All while Harvey's turning absolutely feral for Batman, is struggling to hold himself back from committing crimes for the sole purpose of getting physical with the vigilante. There isn't much holding him back anymore, but the idea of being locked away in Arkham, unable to see let alone touch Batman, is excruciating. Add on Harv's veiled threats if Harvey ruins his chance with Wayne (not that he has any intentions of doing anything, no, never) and they're stuck at a standstill.
Stuck thinking about Bruce going through with the Nightfall protocol at the end of Arkham Knight and the absolute dumpster fire that must've left behind, at least for the Bat's in relation to Jason. Because by the end of the game who actually knows Jason is alive? Bruce and Alfred, who both just blew up the manor and disappeared into the wind without a word to anyone, and Barbara (which we only know about because of the Arkham Knight audio tapes, so as far as what the game shows she and Bruce didn't say anything to each other about Jason or AK. Babs could easily write the whole reveal off as a weird fear toxin reaction). Bruce doesn't tell Tim, Dick, or Lucius anything about Jason being alive, let alone the Arkham Knight, and even Alfred only knew he was alive.
So we get to my point, and the fic I'm telling myself I'll write that will likely just sit in my notes alongside the other half of my ideas:
However many months after AK Tim and Babs are on their honeymoon. Babs either assumes Jason being AK was a bad toxin trip, or that Bruce told the boys and Jason's just gone into hiding and doesn't want to be found, much like Bruce and Alfred. Since Tim and Babs are leaving town for however long, and Gotham is still figuring out what to do now that Batman's gone, Dick comes in to cover 'til they're back much like he does in his DLC. Maybe before leaving Babs mentions that there's been chatter about a possible new vigilante in town, this one more lethal than they'd like, be careful.
While on patrol Lucius clues him in to something going down at Black Mask's HQ. There were reports of gunshots at one of Black Mask's shipping yards earlier that night where the police found bodies, there are reports of more gunshots coming from the HQ, be careful.
Dick is too late to stop anything by the time he arrives. Finds Black Mask's dead body outside, clearly thrown, or more likely kicked, from a higher floor. Follows the broken window to find more bodies and Masks's office, currently being rummaged through by a red hooded figure. Dick confronts/attacks the figure, who either calls him by his name or makes a reference only a Bat would know. Dick demands answers, Hood clearly thinks he's joking until he's not. Bruce didn't tell them, any of them. Are you kidding me? But what about Babs, surely she said something? Dick continues demanding answers, only for the figure to lift their visor and reveal Jason's face beneath.
Dick doesn't buy it, this is clearly either Clayface, a shapeshifter, or someone fucking with them in the same way Hush had only this time it was Jason's face being copied. But why include the J scar? Jason never had a scar like that. In Dick's confusion/rage, Jason manages to disappear out the window. Lucius, still on the comms, offers to phone Babs to ask what the man meant, but Dick refuses, let them enjoy their honeymoon. He can figure this out.
Cue the frantic search to figure out who this person is, where they came from, where they're going, what they want, and it's driving Dick up the wall that this person has Jason's face, because surely this couldn't be Jason, Jason is dead after all.
IDK how this would end, if there'd be some happy reunion or if Jason would continue to stay just that far out of reach that has Dick seething. I just know Bruce not telling anyone about Jason would be fuel to the fire of Jason's "I was left behind and forgotten" complex.

So I finally got around to replay Arkham Asylum and City and I just finished Arkham Knight (or as I have been calling it as I seethe in rage, Batmobile: Arkham Knight has Crashed). My thoughts are many and my feelings moreso and that will be coming out in random spurts so apologies for whatever comes in the foreseeable future.
Arkham Knight identity reveal was one of the biggest let downs for me, ngl, mostly because it's so freaking obvious. We went for how long in this game and series hearing nothing of Jason, then suddenly the Joker hallucination drops his name and it's like a kick to the face. Now we're getting three flashback hallucinations in quick succession that are Jason being tortured and "killed" by the Joker, getting comments from the Joker hallucination shit talking Jason. Like an hour ago you could've said Jason didn't exist in the Arkham timeline and we would've believed you, now we're getting info dumped, boy I wonder if this could mean anything in relation to the mysterious figure that knows way too much about Batman and co?
Had we gotten even a mention of Jason, a riddle that would've given us the little snippet of info in City like we got for Dick, it would've been less obvious and jarring. Dick has the usual flying Graysons riddle and he was playable in the challenge maps in City (thank God they redid his design for Knight, even if the haircut and mask are iffy), we knew he existed so him showing up in Knight wasn't a surprise. Jason on the other hand got nothing til the sudden speed run of this is how he died backstory that seems to come out of nowhere after not being mentioned or even alluded to for 2 games and however many hours into this one.
It just makes me wonder if the developers had planned on City being the final game, it would explain the disconnect that seems to exist between the two games that doesn't exist between Asylum and City.
