On Monday night I stumbled upon the Montblanc UNICEF gala at the New York Public Library at 41st Street and 5th Avenue The library steps were decorated with hundreds of flameless candles; two people stationed outside answered questions and directed people around the corner to the Live from the NYPL Event: Noam Chomsky with Wallace Shawn: Rigorous Rationality You'll find it archived at: livestream.com/nypl/ Now back to the "Red Carpet." Patience and Fortitude watched as the sun set and, guests and Montblanc brand ambassadors, Hugh Jackman and Charlotte Casiraghi, ascended the steps for the Montblanc & UNICEF gala in Astor Hall. That's Charlotte Casiraghi, I mean, the subject of the photographer's cameras and flashes is Princess Charlotte Casiraghi; eighth in line to the throne of Monaco. I'm pretty sure she's accompanied by Montblanc CEO Nicolas Baretzi--he's the guy in suit and tie and wearing glasses who's about three steps behind the princess. Casiraghi is wearing a black coat over her white dress--you'll see the dress as she approaches the steps of the library. Did you get that? It's April 3rd and she's wearing a (gasp) WHITE dress. I know, can you believe it? Here's Vogue's story, headlined: "Charlotte Casiraghi Proves It’s Not Too Early to Wear a White Dress" "Memorial Day may be more than a month away, but Charlotte Casiraghi is here to prove that it’s perfectly appropriate to go ahead and break out your little white dress now. (After all, who better to turn to for fashion etiquette guidance than a princess?) The stylish royal came out for the Montblanc UNICEF gala last night in New York in an ethereal white frock from Giambattista Valli, a look that made the case for brightening up your palette in advance of the warmer days ahead.
