I can honestly say I don’t think I’ve ever seen a show on the West End. I’ve been past it, but press gets so insane I barely have time to see what my hotel room looks like before I’m whisked away. Do you find stage acting and film acting to be the same or do you approach them differently? Right now I’m at Pride, but I’ve been doing weekend reshoots for some projects lately.

Youre missing out. I get that, unfortunately it can be difficult to do anything when you're on press tours or filming. If you ever get chance you should go, it's like Broadway but at the same time it's different. If that makes sense. They're very different, and I definitely approach them differently. With stage acting, you're in the moment and you can't come out of it, you get one shot to get it right since you can't just say cut and do it again. Plus with comedy you get the audience laughing and reacting which can definitely make it more difficult. Are you enjoying the pride week?

Ooh, are you doing a show? How exciting! You’re getting the most done right now, you should feel proud. What’s the play about, if you don’t mind me asking?

I am yeah, it's been a while since I've been on the stage so it's some exciting stuff. It's about my character coming home to care for his dying father, then his siblings turn up and they are determined to work out how much money their father has left them. There's more to it but it's basically a dark comedy about a dysfunctional family.

Congrats, man! That’s awesome! How’s it feel? I was once apart of the Le Mis twenty-fifth anniversary run on the West End in London about twelve years ago. Brings back so many memories. I’ve got to get back there eventually to catch your show, I’m just not sure when because I’m a busy guy. My life is actually going pretty well at the moment, can’t really complain. In an amazing relationship, I have the most wonderful daughter and family, and I have the best career. Can’t get any better than that.

It feels pretty good I ain't gonna lie, it's always a relief when the first show goes well. Which I know you will understand what I mean. How was performing in Les Mis? It's such an amazing show, must have feel surreal to be apart of it. Hey don't worry about coming all this way to see it, just the thought that you would if you could counts. But we are here till September 4th. Congrats on the baby, how old is she? Sounds like everything is going well for you and I'm glad that it is.

I guess women don't like it when you try and take some of the credit. Which I can't blame them, they are doing all the work. I haven't lived in a house with a pregnant woman, but I have interacted with some and it's just best to never argue with them, they're scary.

After I finish up with tour I will gladly come on and see you, if you’re still there of course. I am actually very lucky that I don’t start tour until after Pride week here. I love all the celebrations and fun events. I will for sure make sure to drink and have fun for you.

With all this support I think we're going to have the most star studded audience a West End show has ever seen. We're here till September so if you get the chance, you should definitely come and see it and not just because I'm in it. congratulations! between the never-ending success of stranger things and now this, are you feeling like the king of the world? ‘cause, if you think about it, you kind of are. i’d pay taxes to you. how long are you going to be on the west end? life’s pretty good, i can’t complain. out here tending to my sunburns, but having a blast out here in santa monica. you’re missing out on a pretty good week, but i’ll do my best to get my pride on for the both of us. 

Thank you, I guess I am, soon enough my big head and ego, paired with the crown, won't fit in a room. That's a big statement though coming from you, so I guess it must be true. Till September, so we have a good run and I get to enjoy the British lifestyle. I regret not going, everyone seems to having a blast without me. Maybe I should get a cardboard cut out of myself and he can go instead, then I can live through him.

I was, there's no better feeling than when the opening show goes well. What's your band called?

thank you, my dude, that always means a lot when i hear it from someone – especially on days when i’m not feeling all that sure of myself. i’m glad someone else understands, it’s like we know it really doesn’t make us weak – but it’s in the back of our head that we’re weak if we’re asking for help, right? i did break down and ask for some help this week from my dad and from my nana, so i like to believe i’m getting better with it. every time i beat myself up about something i remind myself i’m a first time father, but also, like you said, you’re always learning. and see, that’s what i was thinking! which is like, i’m not one to judge when people that date that do that – because my daughter’s godparents are like that, but that’s just not for me. though i’m someone that doesn’t do relationships and figured that was the reason i felt that way! but it’s a pleasure meeting you as well, david – especially since i’m a huge fan of yours!

Sometimes we need to hear these things from other people. That's exactly it, plus we don't always listen to our own advice. Or we hold ourselves at a higher standard than others and expect more from ourselves. That's good though that you got the help, I bet its a weight lifted off of you. Oh god no I would never judge someone for it, throw banter at them maybe but I would never be serious. It's not for me neither, but I'm a little old school. The pleasure is all mine, how are you doing? A part from all of this of course.

Congratulations on a successful opening night! It’s nice to have that first night under your belt and know it went well, yeah? And I’m always for seeing a good play on West End, makes for a lovely night out. How long will your run be? I’ve just started filming here in London filming myself, though I’d love to see the play with my wife, make a proper date night of it and all. I can at least make sure I cheer extra on your behalf during the parade!

Thanks man, yeah it's always the most nerve-wracking night. It definitely sets up for a good run and puts everyone more at ease. It's running until September so there is plenty of time to come hang out. Someone else said they were going to drag their husband, I'm glad I'm able to provide a great date night for people. You should, its an amazing show, I could even say the best and it has nothing to do with the fact that I'm in it. It's always good to hear people are doing okay. Has it been a while since you've last toured? It's nice to meet you Maggie.

Ohhh how long you going to be in that? I have obligations at Pride on Sunday as I”m preforming! But I would love to come see it! I am so excited to no longer be needed and do what I want. BTS is taking a hiatus for a few years so we can wrk on ourselves and our solo stuff. I”m hoping to finally get married to Yoongi in the states without worry about tour before Jin leaves for the military.  Hi I”m Namjoon and I just finished Stranger things.

Until September, so I'm here for a while, but I'm not complaining since I love the UK. That's good that you get a break, I imagine it's very time consuming and tiring being in a band, especially in one as popular as BTS. How have your fans taken the news though? Congrats on the engagement! Have you both started planning yet? It's nice to meet you Namjoon, what did you think of it?

first of all – congratulations! i’m not in the area but i really hope everything went well for you? my life is going pretty good, though! i can’t complain. my group, blackpink, and i are going to be getting ready to release some new music, it’s been quite some time since we’ve been able to and the fans are getting antsy. i can’t be there either because of work duties but it looks like everyone is having so much fun and i’m living vicariously through them. 

Thank you, luckily it was an amazing opening night, it's always nerve wrecking on the first show. That's exciting! Unfortunately I'm not well versed in most popular music these days, but I have heard of your band. I know what it's like with angsty fans, but at least you're able to finally give them some new music to keep them happy. Not going to lie, I had to Google what Mad House was. I’m clueless on a lot of things, honestly. If y’all will be there in December, I would love to see it. It sounds amazing. If not, I would have to check out the recording for it. My life has been crazy, man. Just doing this whole Pride week stuff and getting to plan tour on the side that starts in these next week and a half so gotta get the finishing touches on it.

i’m happy to hear that you had such a great opening night – and even happier to hear that your show is in london on the west end. i’m not at home in london right now, but hopefully plan to be soon and i’ll have to drag my husband to see it. we’re always looking for new plays to go to – and from what i read about mad house, it sounds like something we’d both enjoy. my life is going pretty good; i’m in la right now doing some reshoots for a show i’m on, which means i’m in town for pride and i’m going to enjoy it a little while i’m here. so i’ll make sure to have some fun for you, for sure!

When I got the opportunity to perform on the West End there wasn't a chance I was going to turn it down. I love the UK and so this just gives me an excuse to be over here for a few months. You should definitely come to see it and I'm not just saying it because I'm in it, it really is a great play. Please do, from what I've seen people are having a great time, which just makes me feel even more jealous that I'm not there.

Well that’s awesome! I haven’t done stand up in a while! I might have to, I love a good stand up show! I’ve been spending time with Margot Robbie while she’s been filming Barbie. I completely forgot about it while in the UK, so I didn’t go either. That’s about it, my life is pretty boring for now.

It would be an honour to be able to say Ryan Reynolds came to see my show. I think I will get bragging rights for the rest of my life. How did you forget? At least I'm not the only one missing out. Hey man, sometimes you need a boring life.

Why am I only hearing this now? Can I still catch a show after LA pride? Because I’d come want to check it out. I will have moderate fun on your behalf. My social batteries are slowly running out after the past few weeks haha. But I’m good, pinky promise.

I guess I forgot to mention it, I've been busy rehearsing and getting caught up in the whirlwind that is Stranger Things. It's running until September so you have plenty of time. But please don't force yourself to come to the UK, especially after all the press tours, you deserve a break. As long as you're okay.

Congrats on that for you, I’m glad it was a hit. If I was in the area, I would make sure to check it out. I feel a bit sad that I’m not. Life’s been going good. My group released an anthology album and then we decided that we should go on a hiatus for a bit to work on our own things and clear our heads some. We even made sure to make it clear to fans that we aren’t disbanding at all and that we’ll be back again in the future. Wish you could be here but I’ll make sure to have fun for you.
