The door swung open, revealing her infront of the mirror - items of clothing scattered messily across the carpet of their bedroom, creating obstacles Daryl had to dodge to reach the bed.
He flopped down onto the mattress, releasing a sigh from exhaustion of his day yet relief of the comfort of laying down.
She tilted her head in the mirror, shooting the man a smile as she smeared some trashy moisturiser into her skin.
“What you dolling up for?” He teased, extending his arms behind his head as he shuffled over to get a better view of her.
“Don’t tell me you’ve forgotten.” Her happy expression suddenly shifted as she shook her head at the man, “Carol’s having us round for dinner.”
He groaned as he sunk further into the mattress, loosely pulling the blanket over his body, “Do we have to go?”
“Yes! I told her we would, and everyone else is expecting us. Plus you love Carol’s cooking.” She huffed, now running a towel over the ends of her damp hair.
“I know, i’m just tired. Just want you next to me.” He strengthened his point by letting his head hit the pillow dramatically.
She giggled slightly, her eyes meeting his through the reflection, “Tough luck, we’re going.”
She strolled out the bathroom, twirling as she pretending to cat-walk across their bedroom. Daryl didn’t say anything, just stared intensely with his mouth slightly dropped open.
“Is it bad?” She questioned, judging by Daryl’s reaction. She turned to examine the dress in the mirror, checking for any marks or tears.
She’d found it on a run in a run-down designer shop, still on the mannequin. Royal blue satin with lace details at the sides.
“You look unreal.” He gawked, eyeballs practically popping from his skull.
She grinned, readjusting the length of the dress. “Is it too revealing?” Indicating to the low cut of the dress which didn’t hold up very well.
