Watched Harvey (1950) the other day, and while I got the sentiment of the movie, the staff at the mental hospital took away a lot of my enjoyment of it, and I get that they needed to show that they treat the patients badly, it still rubbed me the wrong way. In any case the movie was good enough for one thing and it’s that I learned about the pooka. A pooka is an Irish folklore creature, that can bring both good and bad luck, and are shapeshifters, taking on the forms of animals such as horses, goats, cats, dogs and hares, or humans with animal ears and a tail. Reading that my brain already went “I gotta make T.C. into a tiny little scamp creature that crawls around on Syl”, so I did just that.
