Thankfulness...Â
we can be thankful for everything in life and be simply just that...thankful. But who are we thankful to? Things in life don’t happen by chance and we don’t just fall upon thankfulness. It is planned and we must be thankful to the one who gave us continual reasons to be thankful. God.Â
1 Thessalonians 5: 17-18- Be cheerful no matter what; pray all the time; thank God no matter what happens. This is the way God wants you who belong to Christ Jesus to live.
It is easy to be thankful in the good times, but what about the bad?Â
Why should we be thankful for the bad times? What good are they to us?Â
They are actually exactly that... Good for us. ‘Your hardest times often lead to the greatest moments of your life. Keep the faith. It will all be worth it in the end’.Â
For me... I can find that hard in times where I grieve my Dad, for example, or think about all the things he is missing like my graduation. But how can I not be thankful that he is in a better place than me right now? As much as I am thankful for the world and the life God has given us I am more thankful for Heaven. My future home and my dads current one. Through hard times we draw close- Our relationship with God grows in the times we are struggling. And for that I am thankful.Â
I asked friends things they were thankful for and the one that stood out to me most was Music. My friend said ‘Music is one of those things God didn’t have to make for us to enjoy but he did’. And I SOOOO enjoy music and I am SO thankful for it. Worship music brings me closer to God thank anything else. What is the thing that draws you close to God? Be thankful for that- The place that brings you closest to God.Â
Ephesians 5: 19-20- Speaking to one another with psalms, hymns and songs from the spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.Â
Draw near and be thankful always.Â
