The appeal of Wednesday and Tyler isn’t about twists or secrets to me, it’s that Tyler is just some guy who somehow understands her better than almost anyone outside her family. When you compare him to people like Enid or Xavier, it’s clear he gets her on a different level. He doesn’t try to fix her, soften her, or push her to be more “normal.” He just lets her be Wednesday. And more importantly, he likes her that way.

Tyler never treats her like a project or a puzzle that needs solving. He doesn’t want her to change who she is or apologize for it. He enjoys how unapologetically herself she is, and that’s such an underrated kind of affection. There’s something really powerful about a romance where one character is just a total lover who appreciates the other person exactly as they are, no conditions attached.

The cute barista boy falling for the goth girl everyone else finds weird, intimidating, or off-putting is inherently romantic to me. He sees her, appreciates her, and chooses her anyway not in spite of who she is, but because of it.

But what’s really funny is not even his lack of retaliation, but the fact that this mf then WHIPPED his head back and growled when his mom interrupted them like “ISTG WHAT THE FUCK IS IT THIS TIME—”

Flashbacks to Donovan interrupting their kiss and Tyler’s annoyed expression. 

Like look at this:

LOOK AT THE CASE!

LOOK AT THE POPCORN BUCKETS!!!

You want me to believe a teenage boy crafted black and white popcorn buckets and made buckles to put cutlery in so they'd look like weapons for his crush enemy???

You want me to believe he sat for hours on end and painted the buckets stripe by stripe (and he didn't just make one bucket for wednesday, he made a matching bucket for himself too), cut the straps to exact sizes for the plates and cutlery, screwed the straps one by one, put up fairy lights in the entire crypt and set up a whole makeshift theatre to woo distract her??

AND THEN

He looked at her like this—

WHEN SHE WASN'T EVEN LOOKING AT HIM

Because be hates her?

To then find out that he tries to kill her on the Day of the Dead, which is Wednesday's favorite day, and then she mentions

"he's a psychopath, but he's poetic."

But is it wrong that all I can think about, is that is literally the type of insane story an Addams would tell their kids?

Like really picture it.

Wednesday and Tyler are talking to their teens about relationships.

Wednesday: You know, relationships are difficult I mean I got your dad locked up in a psychiatric hospital.

Like when they are making out and he just pulls away and says “do you still think I look generic?”
