Y'know, since it's mermay I might as well take an old au concept of mine and change it up a bit. So lemme give a quick summary of the

Merbot AU: TSAMS edition

This is an au where, instead of the Creator being commissioned to make daycare attendants, he was instead commissioned to make merbots for an aquarium type attraction in the pizzaplex. Of course, a change in purpose does not stop the crazy shit that the cast gets up to

Current list of mers: Sun: bottlenose dolphin Moon: sand tiger shark Solar Flare: lobster Bloodmoon: longnose lancetfish in water, coconut crab on land(the power of nanobots) Killcode: great white shark Jack: tiger shark Ruin: blue ringed octopus

Bonus facts:

- While each character has their own method for moving around on land, Earth is the only one who was created(nanobots don't count) with the ability to switch between legs and a tail - Whenever someone from the cast is in a minecraft-ish dimension, they function similarly to merlings from the Origins mod, just with a slightly longer breathing limit - Several places(Moon's bases, the mindscapes, etc) will get some design changes to fit in better

You don't have to like them, but these are real people we're talking about and you can't just make up wild accusations about them without proof, or act like any one singular person on the tsbs team is The Reason the show's going to shit or doing something you don't like

Ya the solution is obviously not harassing the OP back, cus it really doesn't solve anything(I chose to block them and I encourage anyone else who knows what I'm talking about to do so as well). #I got shown some insane post accusing Davis of being a controlling spouse and villainizing people with trauma #and it had a scary amount of notes for a post that only had like- One good point and was mostly baseless or overdramatic accusations #I'm not gonna pretend I don't have several issues with some of the people working on the show but this is ridiculous #the sun and moon show #tsams #sams

When I decided to shift the goal of the "what if Eclipse directly caused July 16th" au from merely "Eclipse is a rat bastard and Bloodmoon doesn't exist*" to "keep the retcon count as low as possible", I knew I would have to rewatch some early episodes. After all, the star clearly had several retcons and I want to play around with the pre-astral stuff

But it just hit me how many early episodes I would have to check out. Less than a year's worth, sure, but "most likely less than 200" is not reassuring

*Bloodmoon v2 exists, but he's no longer functionally a clone

#tsams #my original goal was just 'whatever was said/heavily implied first is the Ultimate Truth'#but that doesn't work with some of my plans(looking at you Lunar ...and Moon ig). So here we are #I didn't think I could make the plot go off the rails sooner than UCS did #but the butterfly effect has nothing on deliberately swinging a bat at the storyline lol

Y'know, you'd think this would mean that Bloodmoon just doesn't exist in the au. And I did too when I wrote that, except there's one problem

I think he'd Know it's a horrible idea #the original Bloodmoon was clearly a backstabber but they COULD be loyal. There was smth there to manipulate with a compliance code #and even THEY turned against Ruin. But Eclipse? Choosing him as an ally is tactical suicide and Ruin would be Well Aware of that
