Watching in fear as he gets closer, Sochi backs up even further, he can’t decide whether to stay or to flee.

Sochi was having mixed feelings about Stray. Did he really mean that? To hang out? But he no longer feels comfortable around the other.

“Do you..m-mean it?”

Poor Sochi, he doesn’t know any better. He tries to calm his nerves down as he stands up straight, still watching Stray, nervous but puzzled.

What a naive fool.

*[The fear in Sochi’s expression is the instant gratification that he wanted– but again, Stray stops. Taking his time, in no rush to hurry along with his fun. Shoulders squared, once again he takes to cold staring. Still with his degenerate smile, but after a long while he sighs yet another laugh beneath his breath. More for himself to hear than anything.]

* “ god, what a fucking riot. you’re hilarious.”

* “ – yeah, sure i mean it. thinking maybe this could turn out to be a mutually beneficial arrangement, you know? ”

*[And by that, he means it’ll probably benefit HIM. That’s his primary concern, now and always. So he reaches out to shake hands, surprisingly tame. A demanding gesture for Sochi to come back and accept.]

Sochi closes his eyes hard, as he lets the other dominant over him. He wants to answer, he really does but the poor skeleton could barely even breathe properly.

He notices Stray put his hands in his pocket, he can finally able to catch his breath, perhaps he won’t hurt him. Yet the atmosphere still feels heavy.

“I wouldn’t dare hurt anyone…”

He was finally able to speak. Sochi started to back up a few feet away from him, he somehow managed to convince himself to look up and was greeted with Stray’s dull eyes and sharp teeth. Boy does he wish he was anywhere but here.

Stray got a point, why should he give it to him?

“Your right. My apologies…I’ll take my leave.”

*[So not only won’t Sochi look at him, but now he’s got his damn eyes closed? Really, this just keeps getting better. While Stray had been almost annoyed at first by the way the other was failing to smell the danger on him or see it in the confidence of his stance, now he’s simply having a blast pushing this skeleton’s buttons as much as he can get away with. (Which, as it turns out, is proving to be a hell of a lot.)]

*[He pointedly ignores the readmission of the fact that Sochi is “harmless” and “wouldn’t hurt anyone.” While he’s willing to believe it, given the timid nature shown, he’s already said his piece on that. He’s the one who’s harmful, and he’s made that clear. Watching intently as he’s backed away from, it’s a pitiful retreat if he’s ever seen one. Perfect.]

*[Another step forward, bigger this time. Chasing his prey, if only a little. Stray’s having too much fun picking him apart to just let Sochi go now, after all… HE STARTED IT.]

He hasn’t met a lot of people yet but so far a lot of them were friendly faces. This- This was something new.

“I-I thought e-everyone can be friendly in the multiverse-”

Sochi was starting to mumble under his breath as he attempts to back up away from the guy in front of him.

“I mean no h-harm really! I-I was just wondering if you’d like to hang out-”

Sochi fell completely quiet. He didn’t bother looking up at the other anymore, he was paralyzed in fear.

*[Stray stops the advance when the other steps back away, huffing low to himself– smug bastard. Puffing his chest a bit, even, and stuffing his hands in his coat pockets. Clearly, the taller thinks he’s won some unspoken challenge between them. And why not? He’s a WINNER.]

* “ wow. you really don’t fucking get it, do you? ”

*[Looking at Sochi in slight disbelief now, though a dangerous air clings still to his posture. But Stray seems wickedly delighted with this conclusion; just means he has to try harder. No fun if it’s easy, right?]

* “ …you think i’m worried about you hurting me? please. get real. ”

*[Yeah, right. Not when Sochi can’t even look at him.]

*[The nervous reactions he earns have Stray laughing again now, just as teasing as the first bout… if not more so, as he lets it hang in the air between them. (Dragging it out, narrowing his eye sockets down at the fellow monster in scrutiny.) Toying with him, and scoping him out still. Maybe this time it’ll really SINK IN that this skeleton’s not looking for a friend.]

* “ – oh, i think you heard me. ”

*[Daring to take a step forward, further into his space, the gleam of a golden tooth is bared devilishly. The sound of Stray’s footstep is heavy and purposeful; an audible warning, but he continues grinning away. Looming over like that.]

* “ i’m bad news. what don’t you get? ”

*[Squinting down at the skeleton standing before him, Stray makes no acknowledgement of the offer for quite some time; NO, he'll just stare them down for a little while. Sizing them up, seeing what they're made of and if they'll flinch away from the cold intensity of his gaze as the dullness there flickers like flame. Never seen anything like this one.]

* " ...feh! "

*[A definitively cruel laugh, wheezy and at clear expense of the person hearing it. Crossing his arms over his chest, his jagged smirk is nothing short of mocking. Leaning all of his weight onto one leg, hip cocked.]

* " -- guess you're a piss poor judge of character, huh? "

He jumps at the sudden sound like a scared kitten. The other's laughing wasn't helping. Sochi can feel his confidence drain within him like a bucket of water with holes.

"I-I uh-"

Sochi couldn't get the words out of his mouth. Heck, he didn't even know how to respond to that.

Perhaps he spoke to the guy at the wrong time, mustn't assume immediately but Stray's actions tell him otherwise.
