Most ‘BL’ and y/oi content is fetishizing!! Whether you’re aware of that or not. A lot of that content is designed for the pleasure of nasty folks like you and cis girls, not as genuine healthy content intended for gay men. Many content under those titles and labels contain rape, abuse, pedophillic elements (or things that just fall creepily close), damaging stereotypes (ie: one man in the relationship is gonna be femme/ theres always a top/bottom dynamic, blegh), and I could go on.
If you want sources on any of that, hun I can give you sources for days. Anytime I try to find content for gay men (people like me, wow) I have to wade through articles and disgusting fujoshis recommending me endless triggering y/oi content. I bet you don’t even consider the concept of y/oi as harmful, triggering, and disgusting, but I can assure you it definitely is.
Male fans of y/oi content are deluded and harmful as well, whether straight or gay. Gay folks can sometimes be harmful to other gay folks ya know! If a boy approached me telling me he enjoyed y/oi, any gay man I know, as well as myself, would be freaked out and cautious, especially considering the content consumed and perpetuated by ya nastys.
And this consistent fetishization, cause and perpetuated at the hands of fujoshi, has real life consequence and leads to real life issues for gay men, whether you want to acknowledge it or not.
