So I just graduated from cosmotology school in March and started my first hair job in April. And it's been going good so far. Until yesterday. One of the older women that has been there for twenty six years. Told me that sephora (located in our store) was hiring and that she was telling the stores general manager that I'm good at makeup. And i said "oh i wonder if i can work in the salon and sephora because makeup is a passion of mine" so I go to the general manager and I ask her if I can work both. She says no because of the pay structure. No big deal. She then proceeds to tell me "and I know people gossip and people talk but you are a great stylist" so I'm like ok.....? Giving me the feeling someone has been talking about me. Well. Today I get pulled into the office by the salon manager. Who asks if I have had any unpleasant experiences in the salon and I say no. Everyone has been nice to me that I'm aware. So she then tells me because she wants me to hear it from her. That another stylist told the general manager that I should go work at sephora because I'm not a good hair stylist. (She said it much nicer than that) I was dumb founded. Ive only been here for a few months. But one can only guess who it was. But she told me that I'm a great stylist and that that shit doesnt fly with her and she was pissed. And let me know i have a safe space here and that she wants me to feel confident and accepted. Now. What upsets me is I've been working so hard on this career. I struggled thru school and I want to continue to thrive working my dream job. I dont want people to make me feel like I should give up and work in a makeup store. I love hair and makeup, and nails and waxing I love everything about being a Cosmo. This just hurts.

This is too tragic. Ill have more thoughts on this when i can think straight.
