The DM is a character

They are, within the universe, a director who will do anything for a good story, and putting together regular plays no longer satisfies their yearning for dramatic fiction. They've found the PCs and think them to be perfect for an authentic drama.

The main plot, is that the PCs find a mirror with a reflection that gives them a message that something is wrong, and they can only *see* what's wrong if they can deduce what exactly that 'wrong' is. The wrong being that they're trapped in a play for the DMs amusement.

The players won't know that I'll be anything more than just the DM, and over the course of the campaign I'll feed them little hints that the DM is right there with them, trying to push them away from anything that might be world-breaking.
