What??? That's a phrase?

I never thought that people would understand the gravity of my situation, let alone there are more people like me. My situation is something I wouldn't wish upon anyone, regardless of who they are. I don't know what to do anymore.

My OCD hyperfocuses on one thing. That one thing was supposedly banned from this site a while ago. It's an unhealthy obsession, so to speak. Describing it is actually painful for me. Hence, I'm vague about it.

I genuinely don't know how to tackle this. I've been to countless therapists, the hospital, I've even almost been to mental health facilities. It's bad. Very bad. So much so that DCFS has been called. They haven't done anything. It's been almost a year since they were called.

Why do I not know how to tackle this? Because it takes over me. This shadow, this parasite, this being that lives inside me, it takes over my body, my mind. It uses me. It controls me. My dad has always said that "I'm in control. I control my actions." At this point, it's painful to hear knowing that isn't true. If I was always in control, I'd still be in the hospital if I was always in control.

If you are still curious and want to learn more about OCD, you can visit the International OCD Foundation's website. I also recommend this amazing TED ED video "Starving The Monster", which was my first introduction to the disorder and this video by John Green about his own experience with OCD.

The IOCDF's website can also help you find support groups, therapy, and has lots of online guides and resources as well if you or a loved one is struggling with the disorder. It is very comprehensive!
