i’ll never forget the day my grandma bought me tickets to the killers, looking back i’m kind of surprised she even bought me tickets because she HATED when i went out of town for concerts, she was always so worried about me. but we were sitting in the car outside of my grandpas doctors appointment waiting for him to get out and she let me use her card. i remember playing her a couple songs but i have a very vivid memory of playing ‘when you were young’ for her and what it felt like sitting in the car with her. and now when i play that song i can go right back to that spot, i can smell her perfume, how the weather was, and envision the views from the exact parking spot. i’ll do anything to sit anywhere with her again. i didn’t get to go to the concert, and that’s okay. i know when i do see them, she’ll be there with me and im excited for that day.
