no one ever talks about how evil and ominous carol of the bells sounds?
I have a distinct memory from when i was a kid of listening to the trans-siberian orchestra version during the first snow of the year and just standing outside pretending to be a vampire so yeah it has that kind of energy
oh we all pretend to be vampires to that version
Libera’s version of Carol of the Bells is my favourite because it sounds like a choir of ghost children
I am going to use this time to rant about how awesome Savatage is. They took a song traditionally used around Christmas and made it sound AMAZING! The whole album is actually one of their better ones (I still think The Dungeons are Calling and Gutter Ballet are the best), and has some really amazing songs, such as Starlight or Dead Winter Dead. Now, some people might wonder if it's a Christmas album - it's not. The story of the album does take place during Christmas though, and definately deserves a read. Fun fact - this was actually my first Savatage album I got! My first exposure though was through Hall of the Mountain King, another great album.
