Finding a job after you graduateā¦/I hate networkingā¦
I never really thought about applying for jobs after college because itās honestly a miracle that I even made it to graduation day. I didnāt think about how many (metaphorical)balls(and metaphorical ladyballs) Iād have to tickle just to be considered for jobs either.
Iām an introvert and Iād rather quietly work hard rather than parade myself on linkdin or participate in ānetworkingā events. TBH I see it all as social media for the business world and all the influencers are just faking it til they make it like the rest of us. I honestly think linkdin would be more helpful if it was a platform that focused on helping recently graduated students and not focused on already established business professionals bragging about their success.
I hate it all but I honestly wish I networked more⦠and made more friends during college because that would have helped me make more connections leading to more job opportunities.
I recently accepted a job at OHSU with absolutely no help from the college I attended and without networking on linkdin or going to alumni events. Itās possible, but I think it would have been easier if I would have⦠just something to think aboutā¦
