After a recent MRI showed signs of degenerative disc disease, I had an appointment with orthopedics yesterday and found out just how bad my back is. The doctor was surprised that, not only did I still have sensation in my left leg, but I could still put weight on it (albeit painfully). One of the vertebra in my lower back is causing a disk to herniate, resulting in tingling and numbness down my left side. Put simply, a severely pinched nerve in my back that is shooting down my leg.

The next step is steroid shots. I’m praying to every god I can name that the shots do well because, if they don’t, my only other option is surgery. And due to the location of the injury, I would most likely have to have a vertebra removed.

This has been an ongoing issue since February of 2021. While I’m glad I finally have an answer and I know it could be worse, I still dread the next few months. Especially because I live in Ohio and it’s getting hella cold.

I honestly don’t know if I’ll be posting regularly again any time soon and it does make me rather sad. This is something I’ve enjoyed for many years now and I’m sorry I’ve fallen off even worse in recent months. Well, now you know why 🥲

I apologise for the extra long radio silence.

I’ve had a lot of medical issues going on as of late so I’ve not been focusing on work. I’m currently dealing with a plethora of tests to figure out what exactly is going on. All I know as of right now is that it’s not bone-related 🫠 I have an MRI scheduled for this week because it’s causing excessive pain in my back and hips to the point that I’m using a mobility aid more often than not.

I promise I haven’t forgotten about you all 🖤 I’m trying to figure out how to balance everything- doctor’s appointments, pain days so bad I can’t get out of bed, and my normal day-to-day stuff.

I appreciate those that have stayed! At the very least, I’m working on a new menu that I can handle with my disabilities because I think custom content will be the main way I’m able to keep providing you all with content 🖤
