Everybody always talks about vision. You've seen it in my post for years. I've talked about how I've had visions of the future or I have a vision to do XYZ, Once I see that vision I don't stop there. I start to focus on the things that I don't see. So let's think of it like a tree: Unless you're blind you can see a tree and acknowledge it by the tree trunk, the branches of the tree, the leaves of the tree, and the fruit that the tree bears. What you can't see are all the ROOTS. The roots are the components in life that allows the tree to bear the fruit. The Roots are the channels of whether that fruit is going to be big and juicy or small and damaged. When I have a vision I always ask the question: "What roots do I have to pay attention to, to ensure the vision of my future to be TRUTH?" I was having a conversation with a friend and she said to me: "Keven, people are afraid to see what they've become." I immediately thought to myself how true is that? People are afraid to see what they've become. We have difficulty looking in the mirror and seeing who we've actually allowed ourselves to be. How did we get this way we ask ourselves? What happened? These are really tough questions because they give us insight to who we really are and what we need to change. Some of us would be devastated if we really looked at ourselves in the mirror and asked these questions. I can tell you right now I snapped this picture of myself when I was asking that exact question, and that is what started the process of changing my life. I challenge you to look in the mirror, don't be afraid of who you've become, but really become self aware of where you are at and start moving and focusing forward. A couple years ago I used to fall asleep with headphones in my ears. I would find meditation music or podcast that I really wanted to consume. I would wake up hours later sometimes 8 hours later and remove the headphones. I started doing this after I read in a book that several billionaires icons and world-class performers did the same routine and habit. Then I read in an article what happens to our brain when we fall asleep. I used it as a way to rewrite my subconscious habitual process. I find that that was the easiest way to backfill the negative ruts that were in my head and fill them with positivity and optimism. The hardest thing to get past was the anxiety and fearing that I wouldn't hear if something bad was happening in my house. Taking the final days of the year to reflect our decade. It has been quite an adventure to say the least. So many people added in this life, so many people lost. One of my biggest discoveries of this decade has been the LOVE and HOPE that we can have which can guide us. You see without HOPE life can get rather challenging. Sometimes that is all we have. HOPE. We now have less than 23 days of this amazing decade and yet we continue to work hard yet we also play even harder. So many ways our lives have changed, some for the better some for the more challenging but all for the best.
