Human shield- Hanaryo 👀👀👀
where there was silence, a dreadful wail raises in a fevered pitch -- distant, & growing closer. following in the wake of the woman riding the pale horse. behind her, chaos consumes the hosts & hell breaks loose. atop her horse, the archer can only watch, though her eye is not on clementine, but in the blonde woman, rifle rising to her shoulder & taking aim. even after, when the tense moment in wait is broken with renewed shouting & fighting, brown eyes never waver from her dopplebot. so when armistice stirs her horse into action, there is no hesitation when hanaryo follows right after.
this journey was likely to end in death -- she knew that from the very beginning. at least she’ll fight until the very end.
hanaryo is first to dismount her horse, dropping onto feet with bow drawn & arrows unleashing into the masses. the familiar bursts of shot from armistice’s gun is a soothing reminder she’s still in the fight.
a grunt of frustration causes hanaryo to turn, glancing back to where she watches prying hands pulling & prying armistice from the saddle of her horse. alarm shoots through the japanese woman & she pivots, throwing herself forward & head first into the fray with arrows flying. before she can reach the gunslinger, the other hosts have pulled her to the ground & hanaryo has run out of arrows.
“ armistice! “ she’s lunging, using every ounce of strength she has to force her way between writhing bodies until she can throw her body over armistice’s. not a cry leaves her when blows rain down upon her back, arms only tightening around the blonde’s form to keep her from fighting hanaryo off.
because she knows this woman, better than anyone else here; because they are the same, & she would not want armistice to sacrifice herself for her sake. yet, hanaryo also knows one thing for certain -- something that over rules all else: self-preservation, survival instinct, everything.
her head is lowered next to an ear, fighting with everything she has to stay awake just long enough that maybe rescue will come. she knows it won’t..
“ i love you. may we meet in the next life, tenderfoot. “
