Exploring the Artistry of Automaxx Models: A Collector's Journey
Hey there, fellow diecast motorcycle model enthusiasts!
It's great to be back on the blog after a brief hiatus, and I'm excited to dive into a topic that's close to my heart: Automaxx models. As some of you may know, these intricately detailed miniatures hold a special place in the hearts of collectors worldwide.
Automaxx: A Glimpse into the Extraordinary
Automaxx is a brand that stands out for its commitment to quality and attention to detail. When you hold an Automaxx model in your hands, you're not just looking at a toy; you're holding a piece of artistry and craftsmanship. These models capture the essence of the real motorcycles they replicate with astonishing accuracy.
One of the remarkable aspects of Automaxx is the way they infuse life into their creations. The tiny brake discs, the perfectly scaled handlebars, the realistic suspension â it's as if they've shrunk a full-sized motorcycle down to 1:12 scale.
The Challenge of Acquiring Automaxx Models
Now, let's address the elephant in the room: the challenge of acquiring Automaxx models, especially if you're outside the European Union. Many of you have asked me about reliable sources, and I understand the hurdles you face. Online platforms like eBay and AliExpress can be options, but they come with their share of uncertainties.
My personal recommendation, if circumstances allow, is to take a leaf out of my own book. If you're planning a visit to any EU region country or have acquaintances there, consider reaching out for assistance. My trip to Germany not only allowed me to immerse myself in the culture but also provided the perfect opportunity to add some coveted Automaxx models to my collection.
The Joy of Collecting and Sharing
Collecting diecast motorcycle models is more than a hobby; it's a passion that brings us closer to the world of two-wheeled wonders. The joy of curating a collection that reflects your interests and appreciating the artistry behind each piece is something truly special.
I want to thank all of you for your continued support and engagement with this blog. It's heartwarming to connect with fellow enthusiasts who share the same fascination for these miniatures. Let's continue to explore the world of diecast motorcycle models together, share our insights, and inspire one another.
That's all for today's post, but rest assured, there's plenty more to come. Stay tuned for future reviews, collector's guides, and behind-the-scenes stories that celebrate our shared love for these incredible models.
Until next time, ride on, my friends!
You having an awesome collections of the miniature models... I am also a miniature motorcycle collector.. Buddy can you just inform me where to get the automax products right now in India ?? I was looking for the superduke , BMW 1300r by automax... Will be helpful if you suggest any .. thanx in advance âşď¸
Hi Buddy!
Apologies for the delayed response. I was away from the blog for some time; but hoping to be consistent now-on.
About Automaxx models, Unfortunately, we have to import those. Ebay is a (somewhat) trusted site. AliExpress is another portal but reliability is an issue. Also, custom duties is another blocker.
In my case, I visited Germany for office work and grabbed most of the Automaxx models from there. If you are planning to visit any EU region country or have acquaintances there, you can reach out for assistance.
Good to see someone with similar interest; and thanks for your question, buddy.
Maistoâs Harley Davidson 2017 Road King Classic 1:12 joins the squad.
Its been a while when a new bike added to the collection. 2013 model of the same bike is already in collection. I am planning to post pics of both models side-by-side :)
Posting in this blog after a long time, as I was collecting some other stuff than bike models. A post will follow for the same. I am excited about it.
Kawasaki Ninja H2R - 1:12 by Maisto
The fastest Ninja now comes in 1:12. Automaxx produced it first; Maisto on other hand presented an affordable version.
Of course, Maistoâs quality is not even close to the Automaxx, but still, itâs a model worth collecting. It is one of the well proportioned model by Maisto. This is one of those few models which are available in both 1:12 & 1:18 scales.
Ninja H2R has an extremely aggressive styling. Sharp blade-like contours resembles to fighter planes. No need to explain that this machine is all about speed.
So when Maisto presented it in 1:12, I quickly ordered one. This model was 68th in 1:12 collection, 99th overall !

New Automaxx models joins the 1:12 collection
Hello folks, its been a wonderful day as most awaited Automaxx models joined the collection.
Suzuki Hayabusa : This is 2005 version of Hayabusa. I already have year 2000 model by Maisto. But this is whole different piece in terms of quality. I specifically ordered Red-Black color scheme as it was the one which was featured in movie Dhoom. Hayabusa is super popular in India since then.
KTM 1290 Superduke R : This is 4th Superduke of the collection ! Still, its one of its kind. Two of other models are from Maisto and Newray. (These two will be featured in coming posts). One more Superduke I already have, is a 'Patriot Edition' by Automaxx.
I have updated 'My Collection' page. Do check it out here.
Yamaha R1 poll results :
My Instagram family prefers Blue-Silver version of Yamaha R1 over Yellow-Black one.Â
Hello folks, I recently conducted a poll on my Instagram account just to know, which color scheme of Yamaha R1 2016 models by Newray is more attractive.
Its my pleasure to announce that Blue-Silver is a winner with considerable margin. :)
Follow me on instagram :Â https://www.instagram.com/diecastbikes/
Thanks ! Have a great time.
Yamaha R1 twins by Newray : Part 2
Hello Folks, Letâs continue. In case you have missed the part 1, Click HERE
Looking from front, you can notice pentagonal twin headlamps. Real bike has circular projector lamps inside pentagonal casing. Mirror parts have rough edges which makes it look like unfinished part.
Moving to the front wheels, Brake discs are perfect in size; but not in finishing. They lack detailing. Paintjob is poor, as I mentioned earlier. Thankfully, tyres have a uniform fit with wheel rims this time. This is another area which Newray usually doesnât take much seriously.
Same case with the rear wheels.
Yamaha R1 twins by Newray : Part 1
Yamaha R1 - one of the most populer litre-bike was presented in 2015 with completely new avatar. This was major upgrade in design by Yamaha. So, when Newray brought R1â˛s 2016 models, I was pretty excited. I have had Yamaha R1 2007 model (made by Maisto) in my collection. It was the only 1:12 Yamaha at that time. So these new R1 models were a welcome update.
Newray presented 2016 R1 models in two color schemes : Blue-Silver Yamaha R1 & Yellow-Black Yamaha R1 60th anniversary edition.
First thing you will notice about these models, is the excellant proportion. Lets have a look from sides.
Second thing you will notice, itâs poor paintjob !
Whatâs New in Maistoâs 2019 lineup
New Kawasaki, BMW, Vespa models along with all new MotoGP series in 1:12 & 1:18
Maisto has recently published their 2019 catalog. I quickly browsed through it and extracted all motorcycle/scooter related Info.Â
KAWASAKI Z900RS Twins:
Kawasaki Z900RS and Z900RS Cafe are two major additions in 1:12 scale. Both will be available in two color options. Z900RS - a retro street version will be available in Brown/Orange and Black whereas a cafe racer Z900RS Cafe will be in Grey and Green color options. Excited for these two :)
BMW R nine T SCRAMBLER
This model will be available in both 1:12 and 1:18 scale.
HUSQVARNA FE 501 (Assembly Kit)
Maisto introduced this model last year. This year, Assembly kit will be available for the same.Â
HUSQVARNA VITPILEN 701 2018
This model will be available in 1:18.
YAMAHA MT-07 2017
This is another 1:18 model to look for. It will be interesting to see how much detailing Maisto can achieve in this model.
HARLEY DAVIDSON 1: MODELS
Maisto have huge collection of 1:18 HDs. There will be two new additions this year : CVO ROAD GLIDE & FORTY-EIGHT SPECIAL. Both will be 2018 editions.
VESPA PRIMAVERA 150 1:12
This will be first 1:12 Vespa that Maisto have created. But unfortunately, results doesnât seem much promising. Model looks disproportionate.
VESPA PRIMAVERA 150 & GTS 300 1:18
2 new Vespa models in 1:18 lineup.
Along with these models, Maisto will present entire new 1:18 MotoGP range that will feature Ducati, Repsol Honda and Yamaha Factory Racing team bikes.
Thatâs all for now, folks ! Have a great time.

Hi Nakul. You wrote good reviews for your bike models. How did you start collecting them?
First of all, Thank you for your question and appreciating this blog.
Now, answering your question,
Since 2011-12, I am creating CAD models of motorcycles as a hobby. I was more into the shape, size and looks rather than technical details. I was fascinated towards the personality that a motorcycle carries.
In 2016, I was searching for a show-pieces on Amazon for my newly purchased TV cabinet. I was looking for something very attractive with vibrant colors which will grab anyoneâs attention instantly. And then I found some of these bike models. First two were Ducati 1199 Panigale and KTM 1290 Superduke in Red and Orange colors respectively.
These models were so attractive, that I used to stare at them for minutes and appreciate their beauty in my mind. Within few days, I became very passionate about these models, and I thought, I should add some more to the squad. Then one by one collection became larger and itâs still growing till date. Probably this is my obsession for these models; But undoubtedly, this collection is one of the most attractive corner of my home, and a topic of discussion whenever my friends or relatives pays a visit.
Thatâs it. Thatâs how the collection started. Thank you again for your question. Keep supporting. :)

BMW K1300R by Automaxx
Automaxx ! Probably the best brand for motorcycle scale models. Somebody told me, âIf you have Automaxx models in your collection, then you are one serious (rather obsessed) collectorâ Its really true. Automaxx models are too close to the perfection in design and quality.
Speaking about K1300R, in simple words, the bike that Amir Khan used in movie âDhoom 3â˛.
I knew about this bike even before this movie. But after watching the movie, I thought I should have this one on my shelf. Automaxx models are not readily available in India. You have to import them, with a shipping price that costs more than the model ! But last year, I got a chance to visit Germany for business trip. I utilized this opportunity and 8 Automaxx models joined the collection. Black colored K1300R is one of my favorite since then.

Features of Vespa 946 made by Newray
Continuing from previous post : Vespa 946 by Newray
Front wheel right side : Good to see that Newray have used rivets to attach wheels. No more ugly screws.Â
Rear wheels is also a same part. Exhaust has chrome guard which is pretty realistic. â946Ⲡmarked on right engine panel.
Front wheel left side : Brake discs are excessively glossy, but perfect in size. Brake caliper and suspension are also very well detailed. Dont miss the realistic tyre treads.
Rear wheel also carries same level of detailing in brake discs, caliper and engine part. âVespaâ logo on left engine panel.
Top view : Probably first time, newray has provided Instrument console sticker in 1:12 model. Handle bar, mirrors, key ignition switch shows excellant level of detailing despite of being very small parts. Single saddle and luggage rack that are signatures of 946, are also designed very well
Old school circular headlight and Vespa 946 branding on front panel.
Brown colored saddle that resembles soft leather, makes this model look more premium. Silver colored 946 has red leather saddle.Â
Thats all for now, folks ! Have a great time.
:)
Vespa 946 by Newray
Best ever scooter model by Newray
Vespa ! Worldâs most iconic scooter brand that is epitome of Italian design and quality. Introduced in 2013, Vespa 946 is most premium and probably only luxury scooter in the world. If you import 946 in India, it will cost you more than 12 Lakhs !
Good to see that, Newray recently introduced 1:12 scale model and surprisingly, they made it awesome piece of craftsmanship. I have other Vespa scooters made by Newray which are perfect examples of disproportions. 946 on the other hand, is probably best model in entire Newray lineup. (If you know, Newray models usually lack stickers, paint job quality, working suspension, etc.)
Alright, speaking about Vespa 946 Black color, first thing to notice is There is no single visible screw on this model !!Â
Wheels are free rolling, there is no any friction. Main stand is pretty rigid and supports the bike very well. Newray has provided attention to details this time by providing instrument console sticker. I will post detailed pics in next post.
Thatâs all for now folks ! Have a nice time.
