“ i ain’t sure you even meant to. and i probably should’a kept a better eye on ya than just makin’ sure you were stayin’ close to the buggy, but i think you were… maybe seven? had just got ya into a school and your second grade class was doin’ a chemistry thing. you seen that science kit at walmart and just had to have it, but it was damn near sixty bucks. i just didn’t have the cash to drop on it at the time. but you carried it around the store while we shopped and i figured i’d put it back and maybe tell you we’d come back for it when i could. but i wasn’t payin’ no damn attention and we paid for groceries and went to walk out and the damn alarms went off. and you just stood there askin’ what was goin’ on. if i hadn’t been so embarrassed at the time it probably would’a been way funnier. ”

“ more? well i know you remember jumpin’ off that tool shed and breakin’ your arm dressed up like superman. uhh, how ‘bout when you tried to steal a science kit from a walmart? you remember doin’ that? ”

he remembers it fondly because, eventually, dean gave in and let sam do the sauce, and there was a TON of it because sam was happy he got what he wanted. 

“ like one’a ya put the pasta and the other put the sauce?          ya know you two used’ta do that when you were little. funniest damn thing i ever saw. took ya longer t’ decide who did whatthan to actually eat what was on the plate. ”
