"globalize the intifada" is hate speech

The communities I happily engaged in, communities I found homes in and felt finally complete in have become dangerous for me, as a Jew and as an Israeli.

If you believe that anything from the actual, literal pogroms in Amsterdam (and now other countries in Europe as well) and the following immediate and dangerous rise in antisemetism globally have be "justified retaliation" then you are someone who I cannot be around for my own safety. If you think that the rise of antisemetism around the globe or "globalizing the intifada" is in any way acceptable behavior. If Jews being stopped by mobs in streets and forced to show their passports is acceptable behavior. If Jews being accosted and brutalized so that the one safe haven, the one country which was created in case just this instance happened, had to send actual literal evacuation flights is in any way acceptable, then we cannot be friends. You want to pull the trigger, go ahead. That's my face on the other end.

I am not an activist. I will not justify my existence. The existence of my family, my friends, and my people to dangerous mobs who wish to see me assaulted in every way imaginable. I won't even go into the irony of the assault of Jews during this time when any other minority would be treated differently. I won't go in depth about the horrors that propaganda has hidden and twisted from you. I am not an activist. If you truly want to see where you might be stuck in an echo chamber of actively harmful antisemetism, go find an activist. I promise, there are hundreds out there. They'll be happy to show you their side of the story, but I know many of you won't. See, that's part of the propaganda, how they insist that even listening to the other side is compliance.

My uncle, a man squarely in the Boomer generation, has recently begun to lose his mental and physical faculties. He is a three times divorced deadbeat dad who was the (quote-unquote) dumbest of his two brothers (the one who worked at IBM in its infancy, and the rocket scientist, while he was a ho-hum pilot and business strategist).

I was, apparently, lucky growing up without a male-entitled baby-boomer influence in my life. I met him for the first time in my late teens, and had knowledge of his existence for most of my life (we moved to where he lived, and broke the 25 year radio silence he had with my family).

He broke his leg in a horrible fall two months ago. After a month and a half of rehab, he was sent home and proceeded to return to the hospital for various ailments three separate times in the following week, including (but not limited to) falling and cracking his head open. He cannot live alone anymore, and so after a week of the hospital taking care of him we finally found him a social worker and nursing home.

After 26 hours in the home, he called us and informed us he is leaving and coming to stay with us instead.

There, of course, is a reason we told him that if he leaves, he will return to his previous apartment and we will break contact with him again until he apologizes.

I had never met anyone entitled before meeting him. I hate using the word, because of what the internet has turned it into, but there is no other descriptor. He is the "classic" internet boomer. He has no concept of other the existence of peoples' rich and deep interior lives. Everyone exists to serve him in some way, and anyone who won't "hates him through no fault of [his] own." People are "poisoned" against him, and he is a poor, old man who is shunned by everyone. (Gag).

If you refuse to accept blame in any aspect of your life, even after someone has communicated to you a fault that they perceive, you will be alone. And while I understand his mindset, I refuse to sympathize with him.

OH MY GOD THAT'S HORRIBLE! honey is2g getting on birth control saved my life. I went 4 years without a normal cycle (thank god i never, and still don't, have bad period pains, just aches) and it took my mother, who had been ignored and misdiagnosed as she writhes on the floor unable to go to the bathroom because of pain and vomiting before eventually being "diagnosed" (by virtue of assumption because diagnosis is difficult with many disorders to confirm without invasive surgery) with endo and eventually having an endometriosis attack SO BAD that she had an emergency hystorectemy.... she was begging my world-class (literally, i have asthma and his coworker/medical school buddy is a premier world-famous pulmanologist) pediatrician to check me for pcos because my experience Was Not Normal and he refused for four years.

And literally (btw) the diagnosis went like this:

Him: How often do you have periods?

Me: idk

Him: what do you mean you don't know? Don't you use a tracker?

Me: well I did but my periods never evened out.

Him: explain

Me: well i have a period every 2 week or sometimes every 2 months

Him:

Him: Okay I'm getting an ultrasound machine to check for cysts

AND THAT WAS LITERALLY IT. I WALKED OUT WITH AN ENDOCRINOLOGIST APPT AND WALKED OUT OF THAT APPOINTMENT WITH A TREATMENT PLAN. INSANE HOW EASY!

if someone with asthma was like "yeah but ive been wheezing my whole life, so i can't have asthma because its always been that way and a third of my friends also wheeze and also my mom and sister wheeze" THATS CALLED A SYMPTOM ITS SUPPOSED TO INDICATE THAT YOU HAVE A DISORDER

Reproductive disorders go undiagnosed for a lot of reasons, but one of the major ones is because the medical institution is still (as a whole) under the belief that they're rare because "oh, well everyone feels that way." Everyone DOES NOT feel that way! Promise! Reproductive disorders are so common that they're ignored, ALSO BY THE PEOPLE HAVING PERIODS! If you are curled up on your bed for three days because you physically can't get up because of the pain: THAT IS NOT NORMAL! That type of pain is NEVER NORMAL. Not for ANY situation! Our bodies are NOT MEANT TO DO THAT. Not fighting for a diagnosis only facilitates how difficult it is for other people to get diagnosed. In the past ten years alone, pcos rates have shot up enormously simply because more people are now getting diagnosed. Before ten years ago (not to mention 20) it was almost impossible to get diagnosed with pcos because "look for horses not zebras," but the more who get diagnosed, the clearer it is that pcos is not a zebra, and just because you call a horse a zebra, doesn't make the horse any less common except on paper.
