This took me YEARS to write, but I’ve finally released my first book that’s based on my most popular fanfic. Most of the people I used to scream at about a certain fictional character have gone from Tumblr, but I still hold that time of my life very dear to me. Thank you. Tomb Raiders

After sitting on the finished piece since March of this year, I can finally reveal my contribution to @cosmogonyzine​! While it was admittedly tough to keep this under wraps for so long, the wait was 10000000% percent worth it—the final book is a truly a work of art and I feel honored to have my art included alongside the rest of the incredibly talented writers and artists featured in it. I would’ve liked to have put more of an effort in celebrating Final Fantasy XV’s 3rd anniversary, but alas, I am 3000 miles away from home with only my sketchbook and a few markers on hand (as the above paper dolls littering my in-laws’ house prove). Still, the significance of today’s date was not lost on me, and few days have passed in the last three years when the bros weren’t on my mind. It’s hard to wrap my head around how much has changed since that first time I pushed the Regalia into Hammerhead, but FFXV has influenced my life in the most incredible ways, and I’m undoubtably a better person for the people I’ve met and friends I’ve made in this wonderful community.

Just kidding haha. I’m actually alive and well, mostly living it up over on Twitter these days. I swear I haven’t forgotten about Tumblr completely, but I was waiting to have enough new stuff to report on to make posting here worthwhile. And now I do!

First up: Remember that Ignis-Inspired itabag I made? Well, now you can make it, too!  After making the first bag, I felt like I could refine the pattern in a lot of ways. So I made a second bag and documented the process in greater detail, thinking that maybe I could create a tutorial and sell the pattern for a nominal fee. But after realizing how imperfect my pattern making skills were, and also recognizing how far from ergonomical this bag really was, I decided that no one should have to pay money for something that was at best pretty but impractical and at worst a huge pain to construct. Lastly: I know I’ve dropped off a lot in the way of new art this year, and that most of my post these days are of me pushing my Etsy products (sorry ;_;), but I have been participating in a worldwide Ignis Trading Card exchange the last few weeks (photos below)! Also, I’ll be gearing up for Inktober very soon, so hopefully I’ll be back to flooding your dashes with more Iggy goodness. ٩( ᐛ )و

Master Your Fate

My final piece for @sagefirezine! This drawing really pushed my abilities as an artist to the limit, and while I could sit here and point out all the things I might’ve done differently in hindsight, the truth is I am incredibly proud of how this piece came out! I’m not what I consider to be a highly conceptual artist—my art tends to gravitate more toward the literal end of things—but I knew I wanted to convey something a little more abstract and surreal with this piece. If you’ve been following me on Twitter, you might have seen my thread documenting the Ignis-inspired itabag I made in order to have something to display all of my Ignis charms when I headed up to Anime Expo last Thursday. I sewed all night and day to have it done in time for AX and I only just now got around to taking some decent photos of it! Construction details below the cut:

According to my AO3 account, the last time I uploaded any works of fiction was on August 25th, 2017. I wrote one more fic that I didn’t post anywhere but included in my smutty Iggy novella, which was released in November 2017. After that, I stopped writing altogether.

It’s been a few days since Square’s FFXV Red Wedding Anniversary Stream, and enough time has passed for reality to sink in and for me to consider what the future holds for this blog. The TL;DR version is that we still have a few months worth of FFXV content to look forward to, and I’m not going anywhere at least until Episode: Ardyn has been released. More thoughts/musings below:

It’s ironic that not only is support for FFXV ending but Tumblr (or a least a decent part of this particular fandom) is quieting down as well.

Tbh FFXV was kind of a mess at first but it was perfect because I found it during a time where I was a mess too. It was a period where things in my life were changing and I felt completely lost in the transition. This game means more to me than I can properly explain to anyone outside this fandom.

I think that’s one reason I made so many friends here, we all understood that XV was far from a masterpiece but still respected it for what it was to each of us.

I get emotional just thinking about the brotherhood of the boys and the story itself. I connected with the bros and although the game isn’t perfect - I’m far from one to judge.

FFXV was the first game I put hundreds upon hundreds of hours into, it was a game that helped me find and rediscover myself and ultimately made me brave enough to go forward with things in my life I had left otherwise by the wayside.

I met so many people on this site, I connected and laughed and cried and screamed with. I’m sure many of them I probably won’t hear from or see again, but I also made a few friends that I hope to keep, and at the very least cheer on from the sidelines.

XV holds a very special place in my heart, thank you to everyone; those who created or theoried or just plain talked (lbh screamed) about the game because you all made it more than a game for me.

There was so much extrapolation on the plot that was littered with holes and this created so many other possibilities that wouldn’t have happened had XV been wrapped up and packaged perfectly.

This fandom was my safe haven for a while and I’ll remember it fondly, I’m in a much better place now than I was when I initially discovered XV and I have the game, this fandom and a ton of people to thank for that.

I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted here, but there’s a very good reason for it (besides Tumblr being on fire at the moment)—I bought myself a PS4 on Black Friday and have been playing through a brand new FFXV file! ٩( ᐛ )و

One thing to know about me is that I’m a hardcore completionist (especially when it comes to Final Fantasy games), so I knew I’d want to replicate my perfect Xbox save on my shiny new PS4. Remembering how awkward it was to flip back and forth through my Piggyback strategy guide while playing (which is now woefully out of date), I decided to throw together a printable checklist of everything I considered worthy of completing in the game. What I thought was going to be simple task, however, took me all week to organize and the final checklist ballooned to 42 pages!

At any rate, it seemed silly to do all that work and not share it with anyone, so here’s a link to the .PDF file if you think you might get something out of it. It’s less a strategy guide and more of a grocery list of things to check off, so you’ll almost certainly still need some help from the internet if you plan on getting every last recipe and accessory. Alas, all my grand plans of sketching Ignis daily while I was out of town for Thanksgiving obviously never came to fruition. (╥﹏╥) I’m still two days away from returning home, and once I get there I have another work deadline to wrap up, so unfortunately my posting schedule will continue to be sporadic for another couple of weeks. Apologies!
