grating stones let loose a groan as the hunter pressed forward through the sealed chamber. heavy footfalls echoed in the decrepit hall as bound leather loosened into the form of a familiar whip. ‘ reveal thyself fiend. ‘
it was a long time since alucard had encountered a belmont , the look of the whip the man gripped in his hand gave it all away and so , he remained silent . the sound of his footsteps were deep and pounded away at his mind ; although , despite the presence of the other , alucard would deem it foolish of him to demand an answer . the vampire killer , there was not a single demon or vampire that did not fear of the weapon , if fear didn’t quite cut it , terrified would be more exact . but as always it depended on who was facing such a weapon . it surely did raise his defense up a substantial amount ‘pon the sight of it .
so golden eyes look to the direction his voice bellows from and a hand laid rested upon the hilt of his sword , readying himself before he responds .
‘ hmph … for what purpose do you seek within these walls . ’
the last thing he needed was this . at least , the last thing he wanted was this …
‘ how many times must i tell you to not stray too far from the village ? ’
he knew she was more than capable of handling herself , but who knows of the enemies she could face while she was out there ? alucard did not need to deal with the consequences of such ; although , maria was a kind soul , she would extend her help to those who required such .... unlike alucard who would rather weigh the worth of the situation to its importance .
ever since he had left his father’s castle and the other followed suit , he allowed her to stay by him in his ... silent state of acceptance of her words . why she wished for him to stay among the living world was beyond him , alucard knew his kind was unwanted . his kind was killed and feared - why would he put himself , as well as the world around him through that ?
he sighs as he lets his hand slack to his side after he guided maria to a safe distance from where the body of a demon laid lifeless . his hand releasing her forearm .
‘ do be careful the next time you do such a thing at least - i know , you are a capable fighter but ... ’
his words are gentle as he addresses the other and soon enough , after he had the ... pleasure of dodging an arrow , the harsh sound : thunk !! embedded itself in the trunk of the tree . there were no intentions of him retaliating , after all , she looked to be a simple girl , her style was ... odd compared to his own but alucard was the last one to ever judge another . but he does pluck the arrow from the tree with ease with long gloved digits before he makes his way over .
he looks down to her and for a moment their eyes meet , but golden eyes guide themselves to the weapon in his hand . a subtle twirl of the item and he calmly extends it out to her . a glance before he speaks .
‘ i believe this belongs to you . now , what purpose does a human have to be lingering so deep within these dark forests ? ’

lisa was a very important person in alucard’s life , without a doubt , she has been a pillar for him and some can say he is very much what they call a mama’s boy . he is protective of her very image and everything she stood for , and he was damn sure that should she ever ask him of something , he would do everything he can to aid her . hell , he even killed his own father to ensure his mother’s final wish when she was dying , this of course , does not mean he is blinded when it comes to his mother .
his human side is indeed what makes him open up to the pleas of those who seek help , who wish for good rather than evil . alucard loves that in his mother , she wished to help those who could not help themselves , she healed the sick and aided the poor due to pure want .
for my alucard , in his youth , he did not think being a dhampyr was right . alucard was a sweet boy , joyful and loving , he was just like his mother in almost every way . every way save for his vampiric side , he knew that he was not a full vampire and thus , he did struggle as a child , normally it was hard for him to accept what he was , a child of both worlds . but this is not to say that he was ashamed of his nature , far from it . it simply took him a while to stop being so insecure over it , and his mother helped him with that .
lisa was a very kind woman and she accepted what dracula was , what his father was and acknowledged the difference between their species , and she still loved him . alucard eventually learned that and found himself stepping up to that fact as well .
as he grew up , alucard grew into a refined young man . skilled in all that dracula had to teach him , swordsmanship , hand to hand combat , dark magic , summoning , shape shifting , honing his senses , and maintaining control of his vampiric nature .
and while he did learn all these things , it didn’t go without saying that he also had an extensive education on the sciences , history , geography , literature , art , music , and dance . he greatly enjoyed learning and putting his skills to the test in any way he could , and whenever his mother visited the castle , alucard would spend most of his time with her before she would leave again to tend to her medical work .
to also note , alucard knows how to play the harpsichord , violin , piano , and the harp . he always played for his mother if she was stressed and needed a moment to relax , he always did this without a care in the world and if anything , they were one of his fondest memories with her .
there would also be days that alucard would venture out to meet with his mother at her clinic to bring her ingredients for her medicine and garden . at most only few of her clients have met face to face with him , most ended with him politely declining in conversation so he can return to the castle , he knows better than to overstay his welcome around the human world .
the dhampyr starts subtly , his eyes tracing the intricate equipment placed upon the worktable between the two beings . devil forgery it was an art so rare in a human that seeing it up close was on a completely different level than what he has heard of . naturally , he has only read concepts of such within the old books his father has documented and kept within his studies . but such was long ago , now , alucard was able to see the art done in person . that is , if the other would allow a spectator in his work area .
‘ correct me if i am mistaken , hector . but you are a human , gifted with the extensive knowledge in the art of alchemy that you could have put to good use .... ’
calm eyes look towards the other , one could say there is a gentle spark of curiosity when alucard finalizes his thoughts . there is no judgement in the tone of his voice , far from it in fact . alucard could not quite understand the willingness of how it all went down , it was not as if this was a planned visit after all . normally humans avoided the creatures of the night .
‘ and yet , you sought my father out , learning the arts of devil forgery in hopes of what , exactly ? ’

it wasn’t as if it was just him supporting the fact that his mother was ultimately sure that dracula traveling would do him good . after all , his mother wanted nothing more than to teach him about humans in a different light , and what better way to do so than this ? although , it probably didn’t seem like a good idea to him at first , possibly more than content with being right where he was .
so when his mother is at his side , he looks off towards her and soft golden eyes greet benevolent blues . a smile touches his features before he speaks again . a slight chuckle urges itself to leave his throat as the words follow soon after .
