Here the translaiton ;) When did you start with electronic Music and whatĀ“s behind your name DGTLMONKEY? Iāve always had a passion for electronic music, even as a kid, but Iāve always played a completely different type of music ā with Italian underground bands ā right up until a few years ago, when I decided to finally produce some of my own. The name āDgtlmonkeyā has various meanings, from my affection towards digital music production to the general stance us humans make while in front of a computer, but the legend says that it all began with a monkey that came from spaceā¦ and I like to that this may be true. YouĀ“ve just finished your Studio Album. Is there still time for other Projects or Remixes? WhatĀ“s coming next? The next product that about to launch is called āDISFUNKTION LIVEā, a live show with two close friends ā Giulio on bass and Nick on the drums. Weāve basically rearranged the tracks from the new album and some from the old one, and created a show with a huge sound impact that mixes the best from dance to rock and funky. Apart from this, Iām working towards a few remixes of tracks from emerging Italian sounds ā something that Iāll continually and enthusiastically support. Was there something or anyone who has been standing at your side for producing the Album? Yeah, thanks to Rustblade, my production labelā¦ I was really lucky and honoured to work with Hanin Elias, founder and ex-vocalist of āAtari Teenage Riotā. The track āRise my people" came to life through this collaboration, in what is probably one of the most engaging tracks on the album ā Hanin wrote the lyrics for the song. Not only this, but the final mastering of the track was carried out by Justin Bennett, drummer with Skinny Puppy, Banthier and Mylife w/ the thrill kilt kult. How would you describe your Sound and where you have to get your inspirations? If Iām being honest, I really donāt want to ālabelā my music as one genre in particular, i prefer to experiment and contaminate various influences and just see what happens. Iām inspired by so many music types, from a simple melody that spins my head or even just a mood that Iām in on a daily basis. I truly believe that from the moment you have passion for something, inspiration just comes automatically. WhatĀ“s your favourite Studio Weapon? My 'secretā weapon is āPropellerheadā - Reason - Most people find it hard to use, but i donāt think there is other software available that so natural and so close to the instruments themselves. Iāve been using it for years and honestly i donāt know what Iād do without it. Do you see yourself more as a Producer or more as an Artist? I see myself more as an artist ā but i donāt create music which the solely intended towards getting people to dance. I really only produce for myself, because I need to express something , and this seems to be most natural way I can do itā¦ and if there is a collateral effect, where I can get people dancing and jumping around on the dance floor, then all the better!!! Where do you see yourself and your music in a few years? I havenāt set any real targets, because Iām living this experience on day by day basis, based on the opportunities that present themselves. My hopes are to play all over as much as possible, so that more and more people can learn and appreciate my music.
