Wow she's really enthusiastic about bug types. Honestly Yellow couldn't help but find it kind of adorable how the taller more muscular girl was rambling away about bug types. Wait where'd that thought come from? She's just going to shove that into a box for later.
"Whoa a Pokemon Ranger and Gym leader? That sounds like a lot of work. But also kinda hot." Oh god why did she say that? Her face instantly became a very bright shade of red. ChuChu tilted her head looking at Yellow slightly concerned for her trainer/friend.
She coughed trying to compose herself and tossed out a Pokeball bringing out a Butterfree. "Um anyways you mentioned how Bug types normally evolve fast. This is my friend Kitty. I caught him here in Viridian Forest as a Caterpie, and for a while I kept him from evolving, mostly because I didn't know better but also because I thought he was cute as is." She says pausing to take a breath.
"Anyways, he along with most of my other Pokemon all evolved while fighting against Lance's Dragonite when we had to stop him from trying to destroy Kanto, and save my friend Red. He evolved all the way from a Caterpie to a Butterfree. He only spent like a few seconds as a Metapod." She said casually.
Oh! That Butterfree was cute! Wait, did she miss Yellow saying something about her jobs? All the ranger could focus on was the bug type... until Lance was mentioned.
"Lance's Dragonite... destroying Kanto.... Red...." All of that sounded familiar, something she read... Oh! The incident report that caused the Kanto Elite Four to be investigates for acts of terrorism!
"Holy... I'm so glad you and your Pokemon are okay! The report made it sound terrible, and I'm sure it was to go through it." This meant Yellow also knew how corrupt leagues could be! She'll have to bring things up later.
"A whole team that went through a boosted evolution... I can only imagine the amount of trust they'd of felt towards you."
At the mention of trust Kitty let out a happy noise and nudged Yellow making her giggle.
"Yeah it was pretty terrifying at the time. But I had my friends and Pokemon there. So it wasn't so bad. As for trust, yeah I guess they do. It was a shock at the time when the two pokemon I was gifted by Misty and Brock evolved as well." She said wistfully. Though she knew Gravvy and Omny loved her just as much as the rest of her pokemon did.
The girl continued to surprise her. Gifted Pokemon by two gym leaders? It wasn't unheard of, but still rare, especially for someone who didn't look like they were a regular trainer.
"Well, hopefully nothing recently has happened. I... do want to ask something though. I know that some people can sort of understand mannerisms and get a feel for what a Pokemon might be saying, but you seem to know almost as if you can hear them, and that glow from your hand too. You don't have to answer if you don't want to of course, but... May I ask what's behind it?"
"Um I mean other than Blue, Green, Red, Silver and I spending about a year as statues a few year backs, no not really. Things have mostly been peaceful since I came back." Yellow responded. Was she glossing over how her and her friends were turned into statues by Sird using a Darkrai, yes. Was she completely omitting the fight with Deoxys beforehand also yes.
"Oh I can understand Pokemon because I'm a child of Viridian Forest. Certain people who grow up in around Viridian Forest acquire abilities as blessings from the forest and are known as it's children. Lance and the former leader of Team Rocket Giovani are also children of Viridian Forest. My healing also seems to come from being a child of the forest." Or at least they hadn't ever found a better explanation for the ability that gave her the title of 'Healer' amongst the dex holders.
