âThereâs a Japanese phrase that I like: koi no yokan. It doesnât mean love at first sight. Itâs closer to love at second sight. Itâs the feeling when you meet someone that youâre going to fall in love with them. Maybe you donât love them right away, but itâs inevitable that you will.â

Tama is boss
THE TRAINS HAVE CARTOON TAMAS ON THEM
Sad update everyone, Tama recently passed away⌠An estimated 3,000 people, including railway officials, attended Tama the catâs funeral on Sunday, days after she died of heart failure aged 16. [x]
For those who havenât read articles about it, the local shrine elevated her to a god. Sheâs now the Eternal Stationmaster and patron god of the station.
Beautiful.
Now Iâm crying thanks
and a new cat was hired right?
yep! her name is Nitama (essentially âsecond tamaâ or âtama IIâ) and she served under Tama as an apprentice before being appointed her deputy
she works very hard
Everytime this crosses my dash, I reblog. It is the law.
Iâm crying at 11pm over train cats
Nitama, already now a mature cat (born 2010), has a protege named Yontama (fourth Tama, b. 2016). There is no information available for either the physical befellment or tragic self-disgrace which has removed Santama from contention.
^Nitama majestic, and below with Yontama

This photoshoot is dedicated to all the South Asian women out there who are often underrepresented in media simply because the color of their skin doesnât fit South Asiaâs unreasonable, fair&lovely, eurocentric beauty standards. As we all know, colorism is huge in India and Pakistan. Our society has come to the point where people talk about fighting oppression and uplifting women, but no one actually does anything about it. In this photoshoot I wanted to help represent darker skinned girls in the media, and address an issue through fashion photography.
Little girls grow up with their mothers bantering them about their skin color and how a man would never want them because theyâre too dark. This does not help a girlâs self confidence, and itâs important to teach them from a young age that theyâre beautiful and worthy in order to prevent them from being a self conscious teen. Itâs also important to teach other girls that are lighter skinned to support these girls. In high school, a South Asian boy my friend had a crush on said that she was âtoo darkâ and basically implied thatâs the reason why he wouldnât want a relationship with her. Comments like these are what destroy girlâs self confidence, especially when theyâre young, vulnerable and lost. Support and help your sisters!
With the rise of young South Asians taking their pride in jewelry and colorful clothes to Instagram, itâs important not to romanticize the culture. Every culture has itâs good and bad, and although itâs totally fine to appreciate and be grateful for the good, we shouldnât be silent about the bad especially if we are privileged. While our own South Asians are constantly romanticizing our culture, but not acknowledging itâs dirty laundry they are also promoting social marginalization. Women are treated horribly, LGBTQ isnât a thing (especially in Pakistan), and more of our afro-south asian brothers and sisters are murdered on the streets the longer we stay silent. Instead of bringing light to these issues, our culture keeps quiet.

I will forever be profoundly unimpressed with people who take pride in their unkindness to others
âSometimes people think they know you. They know a few facts about you, and they piece you together in a way that makes sense to them. And if you donât know yourself very well, you might even believe that they are right. But the truth is, that isnât you. That isnât you at all.â
â Leila Sales (via quotemadness)
âBut in the end, stories are about one person saying to another: This is the way it feels to me. Can you understand what Iâm saying? Does it feel this way to you?â
â Kazuo Ishiguro, in his Nobel prize (2017) acceptance speech. Â (via halcynth)
âSomeone can be madly in love with you and still not be ready. They can love you in a way you have never been loved and still not join you on the bridge. And whatever their reasons you must leave. Because you never ever have to inspire anyone to meet you on the bridge. You never ever have to convince someone to do the work to be ready. There is more extraordinary love, more love that you have never seen, out here in this wide and wild universe. And there is the love that will be ready.â
