After the Ball is Over, The Stench of Murder Ling[ers]

"society's attention was focused on the krewe of Raj's exquisite ball, which took place this past Fat Tuesday evening as a most climactic even in the parades and ball of this Mardi Gras season. To be invited within the shimmering halls of the savage garden would be a considerable social catch this season. Now, it seems, nine unlucky guests were the ones being fatally "caught".

My fellow reporter has done his duty in reporting about these missing person with objectivity. However, New Orleans is a city that relies as much on rumor as much as it does on trade, so shall we review the facts at hand?

Many crimes in New Orleans have officially never been solved, but ask around, and you'll hear quite a different colloquial conclusion. To begin, everyone and their mother knows that the rumors concerning Mr. Pointe du lac and Mr. Lioncourt have been unsettling for years, perhaps even decades

Certainly since I was a young man, [unclear] rumor of these "weird brothers." Which brings me to my first point. Which most of the town already speculates, that these two ball sponsors are not brothers at all. Furthermore, why were they sponsoring the event and why they have not been seen since that fateful evening? It was a known fact in town that both Monsieurs sought to leave New Orleans after Mardi Gras season, could it be that they were planning not one or two, but nine vicious murders as their going away gift to our city? Again, these are not yet official homicides, but the lack of evidence leads one to imagine the worst.

While the police keep quiet on the event, reporting no leads, which some residents translate to "no effort" the crescent city is full of rumor and speculations. Particularly with the "disappearance" of Tom Anderson topping the list, certainly this mystery has deeper meaning about what's really going on in New Orleans politically, perhaps on the state or even federal level.

Members of the missing persons' families continue to search the city far and wide. Searching through the trash and decay of the month's past revelry for answers, none have been found.

Other missing include Mr. David Munson, Mr. Andrew Dylan, Mr. Mark Johnson... [unclear] brothers... [unclear] Mcphail twins...[unclear] wrapped up the... [unclear] succinctly. While Mardi Gras [surely no] stranger to crime and mystery it's concerning that such crime might be committed without justice paid. Furthermore, one can not ignore the possibility that these nine disappearances are unrelated, or perhaps only seem related due to the fact that all were seen last at Latrobe Hall."

I think the main moment that really stuck out for me was when Jasper was brought to the same place where Doris was turned. But instead of just one human in the room it was revealed to be full of them. This is what Jasper wants, but not in the way he wants it. Also these are going to be very weak vampires if all made back-to-back. Also, ofc, why would the talamasca want more vampires?? (Do I only care about the vampires in this world; yeah pretty much)

Sadly I still don't really care about Anna, I want to and I'm sure she will have significant plot relevance but I'm struggling to care about her all that much.

The twin thing I didn't expect but also didn't do much for me. It's possible it's my unfortunate upbringing being an only child but the sibling plot lines never really hit me. It was a fun thing to play with the ages and I super didn't see it coming so that element was fun.

By biggest issue with this episode was why Guy and Doris just handed themselves over to the police. Like it was just one woman and they needed to follow her to the car. Idk why they didn't just say no and leave. I thought they would have a reason for it but they truly just gave up there.

It would be like if they said that Lestat actually has black hair—like no he doesn't what?
