Ummm charlos to me? I mean ‘we look each other in the eyes and we *understand*’, ‘Carlos knows me better than anybody on the grid’, ‘we know each other so well by now’ that Charles expects that Carlos just knows his musical inspiration and he does, Carlos understanding that Charles is scared on plane so he agrees to divert it and Charles in turn understanding that Carlos hates being a passenger so he lets him drive. That is his love language and he’s practicing it on Carlos.

This is actually the most fucked up thing in the world. Something I’ve been saying for a while is how I think Charles experienced their relationship on a much more emotional level without consciously picking through what was happening while Carlos experienced their relationship with a lot more intentionality because he was consciously picking and choosing his actions and responses to Charles. I think Carlos understands Charles more than the other way around, because he chose to do so on purpose. So what Charles experienced as automatic, Carlos was to an extent manufacturing. So what I mean is when Charles would experience them Looking in each others eyes and Understanding, that was a very impactful experience for him and clearly made an emotional impression, but Carlos was doing it on purpose because he needed that relationship to function. Which is not to say he wasn’t emotionally invested he clearly was.
