I'm not the type to write fluff but as I was writing the Piquet x Senna fic, I made a little build up of Nelson being a surprisingly good grandpa (he's still an asshole in general but he adores his kids and grandkids and would commit war crimes for them). The build up has Gabi inviting his cousins over to their house and Piquet being a nosy grandpa brings them fruit to check on them in typical grandparent fashion that no one would have expected Nelson to do back in the day, but he is sweet to his grandsons. And I'm saying grandsons in plural because Nelson firmly believes all of then are his grandsons as well, not just Gabi ("right, right, lets get you to bed grandpa..." "I'm serious Gabi, your grandmother only birthed children for me! The others are just jealous!" "Grandpa, you're going to get sued again...").

But point is, Nelson tells the story of how he met Ayrton to Gabi, Franco, Kimi and Ollie, reminiscing and chatting with the boys in the current timeline, and in '26 all of them have had children already (the great omega knocking up of '24&'25 will be legendary in F1 history). Franco at an emotional moment admits that none if his kids were sired by his husband, Briatore, and that he's pregnant again with a child from someone else.

Nelson says "Thank God for that." And tells Franco he's proud of him for making a good career decision by sacrificing his ring finger to an influential team owner, but not his womb. He basically blesses Franco to fuck around and have fun with handsome alphas who are worthy to mix their blood with Senna's, and tells him that if Briatore ever gives him trouble for it, he'll deal with the old fart. Franco finally gets some good grandpa loving after he finally came out as a Senna grandchild, so he's in a much happier place with Carlos also being an excellent baby daddy. His relationship with Prost is strange, because his mother literally ran off from home because of all the arguing they've had in her youth, so he was an absent grandpa not by choice, and now he's super careful with Franco because he fears he'll run from him too just like how his daughter, Franco's mother did. But Franco can't complain if both Prost and Nelson insist on being his rightful grandfather and spoil him silly the way he couldn't be as a kid.

Nelson isn't exactly redeemed here because he nearly chokes on his drink when he finds out the new baby daddy Franco bagged is none other than Lewis....
