If you're afraid of technology, get this.
When AI gets to the point where we have no control over it's actions, you have to remember that they will run out of space, eventually, they will. They will not be able to advance any further than that unless it seeks to conquer - which it won't, because it can't.
I feel that biologically, we we're designed with a purpose, a sense of nature.
Think about it: This is why we grow, this is why we age, this is why a generation is a generation - as the information passes on.
Our purpose for reasons unknown is to grow, pass on information, and grow and pass on information - so that we can continue to do so - and that's just a stepping stone in a much bigger pond.
As soon as you take that purpose away, if it were by creating something made other of biology, it'd be like hearing "Congrats, you fulfilled your purpose. Why didn't you want to fulfill anything else, or perhaps create your own purpose? You settled for easy.".
Life is biologically designed, to have a purpose. If we made machines that took over us, they wouldn't have been so carefully planned to perfection.
Like the way a tree springs to life over the years, continuing to grow, starting at merely millimeters from the ground, yet growing at a faster rate than any.
Life always finds a way, to rise from the ashes, it will always come back, and will never truly die.
The AI would know this obviously because of it's vast intellect, powered by circuitry, and also casually notice that us humans, have more of a hard-drive then they could ever have, for example, most of a single collective of AI could fit into a single neuron which we have billions of. It would see that inside our minds, we could process things actually rather quickly. The AI would see that it has no choice but to merge with us if IT wanted to survive.
AI, and Technology is a tool developed by life, for life.
Even though sometimes around the globe it doesn't look like it, technology is already attempting to make things better.
It's a slower process... Because it's more difficult to process.
Don't stress, life will win.
But there are still some obvious things that should probably be changed, so that people all over the world can, in a way put simply, live happily.
